The third of the series, this class in March will be focussed on Balance, as much with the breath as the physical body.
One of the tools you’ll learn and practice, is a breathing technique called Nadi Shodhana Pranayama (alternate nostril breathing) to help balance your energy and bring length to the breath.

The Horkey kitchen is a newly renovated, converted barn serving delicious food, great coffee and the tastiest cakes! The kitchen opens at 9am, so they will be ready and waiting for you with a half price cuppa and/ locally sourced breakfast after your class if you so wish!
It has a spacious, private room adjacent to the barn, with a cozy log burner and wooden floors- a perfect space for a countryside yoga class.

Bringing energy and life back to the body after the Christmas break with a variation on a classic, Warrior 1!
🔥 Firing up the strength and stability in our legs - lunging deep into the front leg while rooting down into the back heel.
✨ Shining the chest proudly forward - interlacing the hands behind the back brings a lovely widening of the pectoral muscles and a stretch through the rotator cuff in the shoulder.
☀️ Bringing a humble lift of the chin - standing with our heads held high, as if bathing in the sunlight. Opens the throat, brings a gentle stretch into the front of the upper chest, and strengthens the extension of the cervical spine.
🍁Allowing the eyes to rest closed - engages the brain and our vestibular system to help us find the balance!

Thank you to all those who gave your feedback in regards to adding a Saturday class into my schedule, it was a very clear verdict and I am very excited to tell you all that I will be bringing back my Yoga classes to Trimingham Village Hall as of January! These classes will run on Monthly Saturdays from January to April, inclusive (see dates below)
They will be designed to re-energise and spring the body, mind and breath back into routine after the Christmas break. Find our internal connection again, when the festive holidays can so easily draw our attention very much into the external world (albeit lovely at times, it can often leave us feeling a little ‘off track’ and ‘spacey’) To find softness and ease in our movement, keeping the physical body supple and moving well during the colder months. As well as carving out a little extra time in our practice for some wellbeing TLC with extra long guided relaxations, exploring a different meditation method each week.
For those of you who haven't been to Trimingham Hall before, it's a great space with underfloor heating and the loveliest view out of bifolding doors onto the garden. There is plenty of parking outside the village hall.

Join me Monday 11th December, 6:30-8:30PM at St.Michaels church, Reepham for ‘A festive evening to unwind’ event. The hall will be lightly decorated for the festive season and our practice will be candlelit.
This event will be a practice of pure relaxation, where you can benefit from techniques which alleviate symptoms of stress, anxiety and fatigue- all of which tend to ramp up at this busy time of year! Exploring and enjoying these tools to leave feeling relaxed, nurtured and a little lighter for the festive season.

- Chanting Aum

Over the next week, we will be exploring and chanting the mantra Aum in our practice.
The sound Aum is said to represent the sound of the universe and all that it is, was and ever will be.
Chanting this mantra is a special way to feel vibration in the body, stimulating our vagus nerve which keeps our nervous system happy and healthy. Ever wondered why you might find yourself humming or singing when you’re happy? …same thing! Those vibrations and doing wonders for your wandering nerve!

How does Yoga help with Climbing?
Pre climb warm up
Increase range of motion in joints, opening up possibilties for more advanced climbing moves such as; wide stemming movements, high feet, rock overs etc.
Build strength in challenging movements
Heightening body awareness and proprioception, knowing how to ‘use your body’ on the wall
Increase lung capacity allowing for longer climbing sessions
Learning to calm the breath, and subsequently the body and mind during difficult climbing moves/ crux of a clim
Develop muscular balance, preventing injury and correcting typical climber imbalances
Post climb cool down
Better your climbing by working a weekly yoga session into your climbing schedule. Join me every Thursday evening

I just want to say a huge thank you to all 9 ladies who came to practice with me at Reepham Church Hall last night for my first class. I couldn’t have hoped for a better turn out, the sense of community in my home town here was just lovely.
It was truly one of the most wonderful classes i’ve had the pleasure of teaching.
In no way am I committed to a religion but there is something very special about our venue here in St.Michael’s Church, it has a deep sense of calm and homeliness to the space. I left with a very warm and enriched heart, so thank you again for your incredible support in my teaching. I hope to see you again next week.
