On May 17, 2024, the Faculty of Commerce and Management and the Operations Academic Association, in collaboration with IIC-SGT University, hosted an insightful workshop titled "Optimizing Supply Chains with Arena: Leveraging Discrete Event Simulation for Efficiency."
Our esteemed resource person, Mr. Asad Habeeb, Assistant Professor at FEAT, SGT University, delivered an engaging session filled with practical insights and hands-on learning.

The Faculty of Commerce and Management’s Corporate Connect Centre organised a highly successful placement and internship drive on May 23, 2024.
Eminent companies from various sectors of the economy, offering opportunities in marketing, finance, operations, HR, Pharma and hospital administration, were present. We got wholehearted and enthusiastic participation from our students from all programmes and batches. Many of our students secured lucrative internships.
The drive provided a platform for students to engage with top-tier companies, significantly boosting their confidence and professional networks.
This event marked a prominent beginning for our newly founded Corporate Connect Centre, spearheaded by Dr. Tanushri Purohit, Dean FCAM, SGT University.

Students from the MBA Pharmaceutical Management program, under the guidance of Dr. Reetika Dadheech, Assistant Professor at FCAM, presented a research paper and poster at a conference titled "Current Paradigm in Cancer Theranostics," held at K R Mangalam University on April 27, 2024. The experience was both enriching and highly instructive for the students.

On May 7, 2024, the Faculty of Commerce and Management, SGT University organized an industrial visit to Gentech Healthcare, a prominent pharmaceutical company, for its first-year MBA students specializing in Pharmaceutical Management and Hospital Management. Dr. Reetika Dadheech accompanied the students on this visit.

The objective of the visit was to provide students with practical insights through a workshop-style learning experience conducted within the confines of the company.
Mr. Ajay Arora, Director and Board Member, along with Mr. Raghav Arora, Head of Operations at Gentech Healthcare, guided the students through this engaging experience. The participants gained valuable insights and career guidance in the pharmaceutical and healthcare management fields through one-on-one interactions with industry specialists.

The MBA students of the Faculty of Commerce and Management embarked on an educational-cum-recreational trip from April 19 to 24, 2024.
During this excursion, the students had the privilege of visiting H M Steels Ltd. in Kala Amb, Haryana, and the Himalayan Enterprises Tea Factory in Palampur, Himachal Pradesh. Additionally, the itinerary included explorations of Dharamshala, McLeodgunj, Palampur, and the Bir Billing village in Himachal Pradesh. Dr. Mohan and Dr. Manju accompanied the students on the trip.

This industrial tour proved to be a delightful and enlightening experience for the students, offering them a unique blend of education and recreation.

On May 7, 2024, the Faculty of Commerce and Management, in collaboration with the Faculty of Applied and Basic Sciences, organized a workshop titled "Innovative Problem Solving through Design Thinking" at Govt. Senior Secondary School, Mankrola village.

The objective was to familiarize school students with design thinking methodologies, empowering them to tackle challenges with creativity and empathy through structured ideation, prototyping, and testing processes.

Professor (Dr.) Yogesh Mehta, the resource person, provided invaluable conceptual clarity on design thinking through the interactive workshop, immensely benefitting the students. Equipped with newfound design thinking skills, participants are poised to empathize with users, devise innovative solutions, and foster positive change within their communities.

AURA 2024 Captured in Magical Frames!!

On Day 2 of the management fest AURA 2024, the atmosphere was even more exhilarating. Participants showcased their talents in various competitions, melodious tunes filled the air in Youth Idol, energetic performances rocked the stage in Rock n Roll competitions, and the audience was captivated by their performances.

Punchline Paradox and Ink n Insights highlighted participants' creative abilities, while Nukkad Natak provided a platform for students to raise awareness about social issues through artistic expression.

'Aura 2024', concluded with a valedictory session, where generous cash prizes were awarded to all the winners, followed by the vote of thanks.

Capturing Innovation: AURA-2024!

On May 2nd, 2024, Day 1 of the management fest, ‘AURA-2024’ organised by the Faculty of Commerce and Management hosted multiple competitions, drawing participation from over 50 esteemed institutes.
The Change Maker competition witnessed enthusiastic presentations of business plans and innovative ideas. Insignia showcased creative logos reflecting the theme, 'Innovate for the Future'. Trash to Treasure featured stunning models crafted by participants. AD-MAD and reel-making competitions showcased awe-inspiring entries. The IPL Auction provided a fun way for students to grasp the intricacies of sports management. Additionally, Cosmic Canvas, a face-painting competition-themed 'Fantasy', brought forth students' creativity.

The inaugural session of the management fest organised by the Faculty of Commerce and Management saw participation from renowned guests, including CEO Shri Anil S. Kumar, Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Atul Kumar Nasa, Pro-VC Prof. (Dr.) Sumat Prakash Aggarwal, industry leaders Ms. Asha Kapoor and Ms. Jyoti Yadav, and SGT University's Registrar Dr. Joginder Yadav. It commenced on May 2nd with the lighting of deepshika and Dr. Tanushri Purohit’s welcome address.
