Recalling these beautiful captured moments from farewell 2024.
The faculty of physiotherapy organised an event on 11. may.2024 in association with the
cardio rehab & fitness club and alumni cell of SGT University. The recent workshop
conducted by our esteemed alumnus Dr. Basudeo Rajbhor was a significant milestone in
advancing our understanding of cervical spine conditions. Participants were treated to an
insightful session that covered various aspects of cervical spine health, assessment, and
evidence-based management strategies. The workshop began with a concise overview of
cervical spine anatomy, emphasising the intricate interplay between vertebrae, discs,
ligaments, and neural structures. Participants gained insights into common pathologies such
as disc herniations, degenerative changes, and nerve root compression. Our alumnus
demystified dry needling and Kinesio taping, a non-invasive technique, was explored in detail
as a valuable adjunct to cervical spine rehabilitation. The workshop left participants inspired
and equipped with practical tools to enhance their clinical practice. As we continue to explore
innovative approaches, we honour our alumni’s commitment to advancing physiotherapy
knowledge and improving patient outcomes.
Faculty of Physiotherapy in association with SGT College of Pharmacy under the aegis of Institution's Innovation Council, SGT University is organizing a Guest Lecture on NISP. The event is scheduled on 13th May 2024, at D- Block, SGT University. This event will be beneficial for promoting students driven innovations & start-ups and to engage the students and faculty in innovation and start up activities. Final year undergraduate students went to an educational cm excursion trip organised from 3rd May to 8th May by SGT college of Physiotherapy, SGT University all the way to Kasol➡️Kalga➡️Manali.
The students took a foremost insightful experience at Indian Association of Muscular Dystrophy (IAMD) centre in Solan, Himachal Pradesh where they learnt about the condition, various rehabilitative procedures and how to live with the condition alongwith achieving ADLs.
Succeeding this, they drove up to Barshaini to start the trek to Parvati Valley, Kalga adding a lushing experience. A pilgrimage to Manikaran, well known for its hot springs and beautiful landscape added religious beauty to the trip. It was followed by a local market sightseeing in Kasol.
Students headed towards Chalal to check into their camps by trekking. The splashing sounds of Parvati River, cool mountain breeze and chirping of birds amidst camp fire and light music was too pacifying to experience.
This event was organized on 6th may, 2024 in SGT university by association of Ortho care and rehab, faculty of physiotherapy, to this wonderful workshop entitled "Clinical Dry needling". Honorable resource person Dr. Upendra Nath Goswami sir was invited for the
event.
Session was started with the history of dry needling, basic concept of dry needling followed by hands on for various Ortho, sports and neuro specific conditions. sir has also discussed detailed about certain condition such as Frozen Shoulder, Plantar Fasciitis, Low backache, Facial palsy etc, and a better way to mange these condition by teaching certain exercise specific to condition and the dry needling maneuver for the same.
The event took place at Suveda Residential Football School, Civil
Lines, New Delhi on 4th and 5th May, 2024. MPT sports students of
faculty of physiotherapy provided physiotherapy service in
musculoskeletal evaluation and screening of football players. Physical tests for strength, endurance, flexibility, agility, and balance were included in the Musculoskeletal (MSK) Screening, along with
assessments of the cardiovascular systems. In addition, with the
screening, our team advised them on post-game relaxation. The
students learned a lot from this fantastic event.

In celebration of World Earth Day, the Faculty of Physiotherapy at SGT University on 22.4.24 organized a meaningful and impactful Plantation Drive. This event not only commemorated Earth Day but also highlighted the faculty’s dedication to environmental stewardship and sustainable
practices.The drive took place on the lush grounds of the SGT campus, where faculty members, students, and staff came together to plant a variety of saplings. A total 60 students participated in the
event. The event was a hands-on experience, encouraging participants to connect with nature and understand the importance of trees in our ecosystem.
The collaboration with the Horticulture Department provided expert guidance on the selection of plant species and planting techniques, ensuring that the saplings would thrive in their new environment. The drive was not just about planting trees but also about sowing the seeds of responsibility towards Mother Earth among the attendees.
Faculty of physiotherapy, SGT University, took an initiative and organised an academic field visit on 3rd of April 2024 for final year students of Masters in Physiotherapy, to “Defence Institute of Physiology & Allied Sciences (DIPAS)” that is an Indian Defence laboratory of the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) which is located in New Delhi, it conducts physiological and biomedical research to improve human performance in extreme and wartime environments. DIPAS comes under the Life Sciences Directorate of DRDO. The present director of DIPAS is Dr. Rajeev Kumar. The main aim of the visit was to see how the soldiers of INDIA, being it (ARMY, IAF, INF), are trained for the survival at extreme environmental conditions, that may range from (HIGH ALTITUDE TRAINING to MORE THAN 50 degrees i.e, desert conditions). The visit commenced with introducing us to the history and establishment of DIPAS by means of a movie. Students were then taken to four units which are specially designed for the physiological training of soldiers. The first unit was a combination of yoga and exercise physiology where, students were introduced with every machinery, equipment (such as multifunctional ergonomic ruck sack, flexible water bottles, special suit for women) designed a soldier’s requirement according to his postings. Dr Chatterjee who was the in charge of that unit made the students aware about how they train the soldiers by assigning special yoga instructors as well as teaching them so that they can perform them even during their postings. They even had 3D cameras which analyses the phases of gait as well as vertical jumping.
On April 2, 2024, the Faculty of Physiotherapy (FPHY) organized a health camp at Jarau Village in Sunderpur, reaching out to the local community with essential healthcare services. The event saw an impressive turnout, with 50 patients benefiting from various medical interventions.
Under the expert guidance of Dr. Priyanka Siwach, faculty members, along with MPT and BPT students, conducted comprehensive physiotherapy assessments for each patient. These assessments were tailored to address individual needs, ensuring personalized care and attention.
The camp emphasized the importance of preventive healthcare and rehabilitation. Patients underwent a series of exercises designed to improve mobility, strength, and flexibility.
Beyond treatment, the camp also served as an educational platform. Patients received valuable insights into managing their health conditions and preventing future injuries. Information on lifestyle modifications, home exercises, and ergonomic practices was shared to empower patients in their journey towards better health.
The collaborative effort faculty of Physiotherapy and faculty of nursing along with ACIC made the camp even more fruitful as all the people of Village who attended the camp were give insights about startup program for the rural people and also they were educated about anaemia and its prevalence by the faculty of nursing .
We are pleased to announce that our Master of Sports Physiotherapy students, from the Faculty of Physiotherapy, SGT university had the opportunity to gain practical experience in Sports Injury, Prevention, and Management, recovery on the field during the Special Olympics Bharat Cycling National Championship, 18th – 22th March, 2024, at Tau Devi Lal Stadium, Panchkula, Haryana. A team of physiotherapists from SGT University attended the event, providing treatment and prevention for various queries including hamstring pain, knee pain, back pain and treating many cases throughout the event.

Faculty of Physiotherapy in Association of Ortho care & Rehab (AOCR) has organised a one day CME on the topic “Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation:Basic to Advanced level” on 5th of March,2024. The seminar focused on the core aspects of pelvic floor dysfunctions which are a prime health issue not only in female but has also shown substantial increase in male population as well. The day started by seeking blessings of the Almighty through a small lamp lighting ceremony. The resource persons of the event were Dr. Mamta Pattnayak (Senior consultant, dept. of Obs & Gynae, Fortis hospital); Dr. Ragini Agarwal (Director AA Dermascience, Complete clinic for women health); Dr. Neha (Physiotherapist, Cloudnine hospital) ; Dr Shefali Gambhir (Physiotherapist, director of healing path).
The event started with the welcome address by Dean Academics followed by the felicitation of the resource persons. The first session was on vaginal boat and basic anatomy and physiology of the pelvic floor muscles by Dr. Ragini. The CME continued further with the session of Dr. Mamta on the common pelvic floor dysfunctions, their incidence and the impact it can have in the patient’s life. Next was a very informative practical session by Dr. Shefali on perineal floor muscle training where she showed a handful of exercises that can be practically implemented in our clinical practice. The end session was on the role of physiotherapy in Antenatal-Post natal Rehabilitation which was taken by Dr. Neha.
From the perspective of the attendees, it can be concluded that the seminar proved to be profoundly informative and exceptionally enlightening. The focal allure of the CME event lay in the discussed topic. The introduction of novel techniques and exercises undoubtedly paved the way for innovative clinical practices among all participants.
The Faculty of Physiotherapy & Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized a talk titled "Embracing Diversity: A Journey Towards Gender Sensitization." Prof Sabiha Hussain, Former Director of the Sarojini Naidu Centre for Women's Studies at Jamia Millia University, New Delhi, was the featured resource person. The welcome address was given by Prof. M. Ejaz Hussain (Dean, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences), and Prof. (Dr) Nish*th Kumar Mishra, Director of IQAC, SGT University, shed light on the challenges that women face while seeking job opportunities in the corporate world due to societal stereotypes.
Prof Sabiha Hussain also highlighted various legal acts, such as section 14 and section 498, and discussed ways to make society and organizations more gender-inclusive by deconstructing gender roles and challenging stereotypes and assumptions. The event concluded with Dr. Pooja Anand (Dean, Faculty of Physiotherapy) emphasizing the importance of gender sensitization and providing equal opportunities for better societal decisions and growth. The event took place at the C Block Auditorium and was attended by a total of 194 students, including 88 males and 106 females.
The Association of Neuro Rehabilitation (ANR) under Faculty of Physiotherapy has Organized a Two-Day Workshop on “Revolutionizing Posture and Movement Management in children with Cerebral Palsy through Recent therapeutic approaches” Dr. Md. Sadique Khan, a Pediatric Physical Therapist with certifications in Sensory Integration (SI) from the University of California and Neurodevelopmental Therapy (NDT) from Boston University, USA, is the featured resource person.
The first day of the workshop began with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony, followed by welcoming remarks from our guest of honor, Dr. Sham Lal Singla, and our Dean, Dr. Pooja Anand. Dr. Sadique 's session focused on the developmental phases (gross motor, fine motor, language, skill, and cognition) in pediatric populations, emphasizing the importance of postural control and the application of therapies in a playful manner. The workshop included discussions on Neurodevelopmental Therapy, Sensory Integration, and Total Muscle Release, illustrated with 10 case studies.
On the second day, the workshop relocated to Sprouts Child Developmental Centre in Gurugram, where the students were accompanied by faculty members Dr. Saurabh, Dr. Vinika, Dr. Aarti, and Dr. Himanshu. Dr. Sadique assigned five ongoing rehabilitation cases from the center for observation, which were later reviewed and tested through a multiple-choice question exam. A hands-on experience was provided to the students during the workshop.
We are pleased to announce that our second-year Master of Physiotherapy students specializing in Sports, from the Faculty of Physiotherapy, had the opportunity to gain practical experience in Sports Injury, Prevention, and Management on the field during the 3rd WAKO INDIA OPEN INTERNATIONAL KICKBOXING TOURNAMENT, 2024, held at KD Jadhav Indoor Stadium, Indira Gandhi Sports Complex, New Delhi. This five-day event took place from February 7th to February 11th, 2024. The delegation was led by Mr. Roy Baker, the President of the World Association of Kickboxing Organization (WAKO), Mr. Santosh K. Agrawal, President of WAKO India Kickboxing Federation, and Ritika Mohan Singh, the brand ambassador of the 3rd WAKO India Open International Kickboxing Tournament. With approximately 600 entries from 14 countries, the event was truly international and dynamic. A team of sports physiotherapists from SGT University attended the event, providing treatment for various injuries including shoulder complex injuries, cuts, and wounds, effectively managing, and treating many cases throughout the tournament.

The Faculty of Physiotherapy in collaboration with the Environmental committee organized a one-day educational trip to Sultanpur National Bird Sanctuary for BPT 1st year students. This trip was planned and coordinated by Dr. Aditi (Assistant Professor, FPHY) and Mr. Mohit Deswal (Member, Environmental committee) with the help of Dr. Archana Chaudhary (Chairperson, Environmental committee) to celebrate “Wetland Day” on 02nd February 2023.
The students had a nature walk which was guided by the forest staff members. Students documented their observations photography and discussed the impact of human activities on ecosystems, and ways to promote conservation and sustainable practices. A total of 11 students participated and presented power point presentation competition where they expressed their knowledge and understanding about wetland in front of chief guests and school students. The theme for the year 2024 was “Wetland and human health being”. Prizes and refreshments were provided to all the contestants to motivate them.
It was a fantastic initiative that demonstrates a proactive approach to integrating environmental awareness and appreciation for nature into the academic curriculum
We feel proud to share that Sports Physiotherapy students of SGT University are providing physiotherapeutic services as physiotherapy officials India Youth Games 2023. This National level event is being organized in Tamil Nadu from19th January 2024 to 31st January 2024.

On 16th January 2024, The Association of Sports Health and fitness, SGT University- Faculty of Physiotherapy with IAP Haryana Chapter, organized a seminar on Diabetic Foot: A Comprehensive Management from Bench to Bed Side.
Honorable Resource persons were Dr. APS Suri (MBBS, President of IPA National), Dr. Sandeep Suri (MD Medicine, President IPA Haryana Chapter), Dr. Sonika Lamba (MBBS, DNB Medicine CCEBDM) invited for event and Vice Chancellor, Dr. Atul Nasa was invited as Chief Guest.
The day started with lamp lightning ceremony with auspicious hands of the dignitaries. Right after the lamp lightning ceremony, Honorable Vice Chancellor of SGT University, Dr. Atul Nasa was invited on stage to deliver a few words of wisdom.
Following the speech, Dr. Pooja Anand (Dean, FPHY) and Dr. Siddharth Sen felicitated the guests with sampling and mementos. Dr. APS Suri started the seminar by informing the students about diabetic foot, history of podiatry, its modern history and why we need podiatry and prevalence of diabetes and a new concept ‘foot facts – A rule of 15’, altered biomechanics which leads to foot ulceration, onychogryphosis. He gave a detailed information diabetic foot.
Then the presentation was continued by Dr. Sandeep Suri and he talked about Neuropathy and Diabetic Neuropathy, its anatomy, complication, Vasa Nervosa, pathological process of diabetic neuropathy and role of nerve fibers and clinical examination.
Dr. APS Suri enlightened the room with the detailed introduction on diabetic foot offloading. He showed about what kind of pads are used and how they placed to minimize pressure on ulcer like footwear with felted pads, rockers shoe.
After break, the session was continued by Dr. Sonika Lamba about New Diabetic Foot Infection Guidelines and its prevention.
And after that Dr. Sandeep Suri and Dr. APS Suri talked about the precautions of diabetic foot and how it can be prevent. The day come to an end with the Vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Sajjan Pal.
A Physiotherapy camp was organised by the department of Physiotherapy of SGT University in village Soldha Teh Bahadurgarh Distt Jhajjar on Saturday.
With the help of Mr. Himanshu ADVOCATE Bahadurgarh Court, of Village SOLDHA, more than 45 villagers were checked and being treated by Dr Himanshu Rakheja, Assistant Professor of Physiotherapy Department.
MrHimanshu from SOLDHA JHAJJAR Village said, "Every single persons must take care of their physical health these days. A good physical health ensure well mental being."
"We know that several sportspersons of Haryana comes from the rural area as theSOLDHA Village itself has some wrestlers, Teaching them better techniques while playing sports keep them healthy and moreover they can avoid any kind of internal injury. One must immediately go for Physiotherapy sessions if they feel any discomfort," Dr Himanshu added.

Mr. Bakul Dev Rai delivered a warm welcome speech, setting the tone for the day. Dr. Saurabh Trivedi (Director, Venture Bolt) our esteemed speaker, delved into the intricacies of intellectual property, shedding light on various patents and copyright infringements. His articulate presentation captivated the audience, emphasizing the crucial link between academia and industry in fostering innovation .The event served as a platform to discuss contemporary challenges and strategies in protecting intellectual property rights. Dr. Trivedi's insights into the nuances of patents and copyrights sparked engaging discussions among participants, promoting a deeper understanding of legal frameworks. The highlight of the event was a fun quiz tailored for the students, injecting an element of enjoyment into educational setting. Dr. Sunny Agarwal’s vote of thanks aptly acknowledged the valuable contributions of both Mr. Rai and Dr. Trivedi, expressing gratitude for an event that not only broadened intellectual horizons but also facilitated meaningful connections between academia and industry professionals. The workshop's success lies in its ability to bridge the gap between theory and practice in the realm of intellectual property.

On 9 th December 2023, the Association of Ortho Care and Rehab (AOCR), Faculty of
Physiotherapy, SGT University, organized a One–Day Seminar on the Introduction of
Palliative Care and Lymphedema Management. The Chief Guest and Resource Person was
Dr. Deepika, Senior Physiotherapist and Onco-Rehabilitation Expert, at Dharmshila Rahat
Medical Centre, Delhi.
The day started with a warm welcome of Dr. Deepika Mam, The Chief Guest, and the
Resource Person, Dr. Pooja Anand Mam, Dean of the Faculty of Physiotherapy, Dr.
Siddharth Sen Sir, Head of the Association of Ortho Care and Rehab along with all the
faculty members and Physiotherapy Students.
After lamp lightening and evoking Goddess Sarasvati, Dr. Pooja Anand Mam introduced the
topic of lymphedema and palliative care to the students. Further, Dr. Siddharth Sen Sir
facilitated Dr. Deepika Mam with a Sampling and Dr. Pooja Anand Mam facilitated her with
a memento as a guest of honour.
Dr. Deepika Mam started the seminar by informing the students about Palliative Care. She
stated that Palliative Care is holistic care of patients, suffering from incurable chronic,
progressive life-threatening diseases. It is an approach that improves the Quality of Life of
patients and their families facing problems with a life-threatening illness. Patients suffering
from cardiovascular disease need palliative care the most which is followed by Cancer,
COPD, AIDS, and Post – Covid Symptoms. Furthermore, she told the students about the
assessment of palliative care, how the assessment had to be taken, factors affecting palliative
care, and much more.
After Palliative Care was completed she introduced the second topic i.e. Lymphedema
starting with its anatomy, classification, symptoms, investigations, and lastly Lymphedema
Management. She said that Compression garments are preferred, Manual Lymphatic
Drainage, Limb elevation to be proper, and much more. Application of Bandages for the
drainage of lymph nodes was also demonstrated practically over one student followed by
self-bandaging in crisscross pattern. After that, she concluded the session with some major
points to be taken care of in Palliative Care and Lymphedema Management.
The day came to an end with the Vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Siddharth Sen Sir.
Educational trip to PT Deen Dayal Upadhyay National Institute for Person with physical Disabilities (Divyangjan)
Faculty of Physiotherapy, SGT University took Students of MPT 1st and 2nd year on an educational Trip to pt Deendayal Upadhyay National Institute for person with physical disabilities (divyganjan) on 18th October, 2023 through SGT Buses. Dr. Siddharth Sen (Professor, FPHY), Dr. Pooja Bhati (Assistant Professor, FPHY), Dr. Dipti Ranjan (Assistant Professor, FPHY) along with Dr. Vinika (Assistant Professor, FPHY) from faculty went with Students. Students visited 3 departments, i.e. Department of prosthesis, Department of orthosis and Department of physiotherapy. They met Dr. Roshan Lal Meena and Dr. Manju
1. Department of Prosthesis: -
The in charge there explained customisation of prothesis, different types of prosthesis; indications and Contraindications; Role of physiotherapist. The stump condition, and materials used in making of prostheses.
2. Department of Orthosis: -
The Incharge there explained orthosis, different types of orthoses, customisation of each orthosis and the material used in making of orthosis.
3. Department of Physiotherapy: -
The in charge there explained new techniques and modalities used in their department like- Iso kinetic, shock wave therapy, pneumatic compression. How these are helpful in the conditions indicated for it.
Students were satisfied and happy with the exposure as they received new experiences.
The 3rd National Conference GAPTCON was organised by GAPT in Artemis Hospital, Gurgaon on 8th October, 2023. The theme of the conference was Physiotherapy Advancement & Opportunities.
We are proud to announce that one of our final year student Choudhary, has secured 2nd position in Paper presentation under UG category. She has received a certificate, a momento and a cash prize of Rs 1500/-. Kapoor and Yadav of BPT 2ns year also secured second position in the poster presentation competition. On the other hand, Verma, a BPT 3rd year student has secured the 1st position in Poster presentation. She has received a certificate and a momento. Salim, a BPT final year student and , BPT 3rd year student tried their best and received the certificate of participation in Poster presentation.
"DEBUT DELIGHT" Freshers party was organized on 29th September, 2023 in SGT university by Faculty of Physiotherapy
For the fresher’s of BPT and MPT students. 385 people including faculties and students enjoyed the event. Respected guest of honour Dr Atul Nasa, Pro vice chancellor, SGT University was invited for
the event and Prof. Urmila Sharma, Director of women study centre was invited as chief guest. The
program started at 10 am at shooting hall, A- block, SGT University with a lamp lighting ceremony by the
Dean of Faculty of Physiotherapy Dr Pooja Anand along with dignitaries and all the faculty members. Following the speech, the respected chief guest and guest of honour were invited on the dias to share
few words. Then the most awaited session of cultural gala started as students from Bachelor of
Physiotherapy and Master of Physiotherapy. After that, Lunch break was taken at 2 pm followed by beautiful ramp walk by BPT fresher’s. At the end,
fresher’s from graduation and post graduation entitled with Mr. Charming- SHIKHAR and Miss Charming-
SANYA, Mr. Talented- Shubham and Miss Talented- SHIVANGI , Mr. Freshers- Abhimanyu and Miss
Fresher’s – TAPI ASUN.
