Mechanical Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering & Technology, in collaboration
with the Atal Community and Innovation Center, hosted an enlightening one-day Electric
Vehicle (EV) training program for students from M D Senior Secondary School, Mankrola,
Gurugram on 9 th April, 2024. Our young guests dived into the world of EV technology,
learning about everything from battery management to powertrain design, and were even
treated to live demonstrations of Electric Bikes and Cars. The day was filled with discovery,
innovation, and inspiration, ending with a visit to the ACIC, SGTU.

A seminar on “Unlocking the Art of Research Paper Writing: Strategies,
Techniques and Best Practices”
Research paper writing is a skill that requires continuous development and refinement. Organizing
seminars focused on such topics allows participants to stay updated on current trends,
methodologies, and tools in academic writing.
Such activities serve as a valuable source for students to improve their research writing abilities
and advance their academic goals. To achieve this, the Department of Civil Engineering, FEAT,
SGTU organized a Seminar on "Unlocking the Art of Research Paper Writing: Strategies,
Techniques and Best Practices" on 27h March 2024 from 11:00 AM to 01:00 PM in Room No.
303, E-Block, SGT University.
This provided the students an opportunity to understand various tools, methodologies and online
resources available for writing and publishing research papers.

Roads are the arteries of any nation that are fundamental requirements for the growth of any region, or
nation. Without road connectivity, it is impossible in modern times to improve the living standard and
prosperity of any society.
However, the safe efficient, and economical design of the road is very complex and dynamic. Road
design use various software, and design tools to achieve the highway (road) design.

workshop cm guest lecture of GEOMETRIC DESIGN OF HIGHWAY USING OPENROADS SOFTWARE on

Site visits are indispensable in civil engineering as they provide critical insights, facilitate informed
decision-making, and contribute to the successful planning, design, and ex*****on of construction
projects. Foundations are critical components of any construction project, providing essential
support, stability, and protection to the structure. Their design and construction require careful
consideration of soil conditions, structural loads, environmental factors, and regulatory
requirements to ensure the long-term performance and durability of the building. Keeping this
viewpoint, Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering & Technology, SGT
University, organized a “Site Visit, at MRG World, Sector 90, Gurugram, Haryana", under
Practical Exposure Theme, for the Students of the Department of Civil Engineering, of
Faculty of Engineering & Technology, on 30 March 2024. Students were highly interested in
understanding the different foundation types and different construction techniques adopted by the
engineers in different soil conditions. Site engineer explained the foundation basics such as
shallow foundations (such as strip, raft, or pad foundations) and deep foundations (such as piles or
caissons), and different construction techniques. Students actively understand the foundation
concepts. Overall, the site visit was quite informative and students gained a lot.

B. Tech. Mechanical Engineering students had the incredible opportunity to step into the world of

The Mechanical Engineering Department is thrilled to announce the successful signing of an MoU between SGT University and CST Envirotech on March 15, 2024. This landmark collaboration paved the way for the establishment of a state-of-the-art Hydrogen Engine Testing Lab on our campus.
Designed to spearhead research in sustainable energy sources, this lab is set to become a beacon of innovation for our Mechanical Engineering department also aiding other academic disciplines in our university. Students and faculty will have the unique opportunity to explore the potential of hydrogen as a fuel, contributing to the development of sustainable energy solutions. Students from the Mechanical Engineering Department went to IES University Bhopal to participate in the 𝐒𝐈𝐄𝐏 𝐄-𝐁𝐈𝐊𝐄 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞 (𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧) 𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐬 (𝐈𝐒𝐈𝐄) from 24th January 2024 to 28th January 2024. The Team FLASHVOLT from the Department of Mechanical Engineering backed the Future Award with a cash prize of 5000 INR in the competition. They participated in the said event with their self-manufactured E-Bike and competed with 62 teams from all across India. Filled with excitement and anticipation, the team ventured into a world of innovation and competition.

The experience was nothing short of transformative. Engaging in hands-on learning, the students applied their theoretical knowledge to practical challenges, honing their skills in designing and building electric bikes. Collaborating with peers and mentors, they navigated through the complexities of engineering, problem-solving, and teamwork.

Amidst the intense competition, the students showcased their ingenuity and resilience, overcoming obstacles with determination. The challenge not only tested their technical prowess but also instilled in them a sense of responsibility towards sustainable transportation solutions.

The students of Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Faculty of Engineering & Technology, SGT University visited the India International Science Festival (IISF-2023) organized by Government of India at DBT THSTI-RCB Campus, on date 18.01.2024 and 19.01.2024 in Faridabad. The festival comprises of seventeen events which are designed for students and faculties to give an opportunity to explore and engage with science and innovation. Students explored the diverse range of exhibits, gaining insights into the latest advancements across various scientific disciplines. Additionally, the festival provided a platform for knowledge exchange through conferences and discussions, creating a stimulating environment that left a lasting impression on participant’s minds. Inspired by the wealth of knowledge and innovation witnessed at the India International Science Festival, our students eagerly planned to initiate collaborative projects, explore new research avenues, and actively engage in scientific discussions within their academic community. The experience fueled their aspirations to contribute meaningfully to the world of science and technology.

On November 30, 2023, a group of 32 enthusiastic Mechanical Engineering students, accompanied by
two faculty members from the Faculty of Engineering & Technology, SGT University, embarked on a
transformative industrial visit to the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) workshop in Okhla,
New Delhi. The primary contact person facilitating the visit was Mr. Naveen, Deputy Manager
(Technical) from the Workshop Training Department, whose expertise added a valuable dimension to
the students' learning experience.
The visit provided a comprehensive insight into various manufacturing processes and cutting-edge
technologies employed in the industry. The students were exposed to a range of machines and
techniques, enhancing their understanding of the practical applications of theoretical concepts
learned in the classroom. It included equipment like Compression molding machine, EDM machine,
EDM wire cutting, conventional workshop equipment like lathe, milling etc. The industrial visit took an
exciting turn when students were introduced to advanced processes such as additive manufacturing.
Witnessing the layer-by-layer construction of intricate components using cutting-edge 3D printing
technology sparked a sense of awe and curiosity among the students. The session in the Simulation
Lab further enriched their learning by demonstrating how theoretical models are simulated and
validated before entering the production phase.
In conclusion, the industrial visit to the NSIC workshop was a resounding success, leaving an indelible
mark on the students and faculty members from SGT University. It not only enhanced their
understanding of mechanical engineering processes but also inspired them to embrace innovation and
contribute meaningfully to the ever-evolving field of manufacturing.

TORQUE Club, Faculty of Engineering & Technology, organized a Quiz Competition on the theme
“ONENESS OF THE NATION “on 29th November to celebrate Bhartiya Bhasha Diwas. Students from
Different faculties came together showcasing their knowledge and enthusiasm for our incredible nation.
The competition was fierce, the questions were challenging, but the energy and spirit of unity were
unmatched!
In this competition Faculty of Law bagged 1st position, Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering got

nd and 3rd position respectively. But a Huge shoutout to all the participants for making this event so special!
Their passion and dedication truly shone through, and it was inspiring to see everyone engaged in promoting
the oneness that binds us as a nation.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Faculty of Engineering &
Technology, SGT University, organized an event, PLACEMENT MANTHAN 2023, on
November 18-20, 2023 at E-Block, SGTU. It is designed to provide our students with
valuable practice and preparation for real job placement scenarios, equipping them
with the skills and confidence needed to succeed in the competitive job market as well
as real experience of the placement drive.
This two-day event commenced on November 18th with a challenging written test,
followed by the Group Discussion round, and on November 20th, the interview process
was conducted. 100+ students actively participated in the Placement Marathon,
creating a vibrant and energetic atmosphere. The top 3 winners not only got
everyone’s appreciation but also got rewarded with cash prizes for their exceptional
performance. The event was a resounding success, leaving a positive impact on
participants.

Sharma, working as a Senior Software Engineer at BSIPL Noida, and Mr. Prateek,
working as Principal Engineer at Hughes Systique Corporation. This event wouldn’t

Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Technology ,SGT University, in association with Code-Club and in collaboration with "EM PRIME CONSULTING INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED " has successfully concluded 2-days workshop on "Data analytics program " on 25th and 26th October 2023.
The primary objective of this workshop was to provide our students with insights into the rapidly evolving field of Data Analytics . Organisation’s expertise and experience in the financial sector and in data analytics field make them the ideal partner for this initiative. This workshop will be very helpful for improving both the curriculum in this particular discipline, and the knowledge and understanding of our students in this important area.

Innovations in agricultural machinery and sustainable engineering practices play a crucial role in the modernization and sustainability of agriculture. Agriculture is a vital sector that feeds the world's population, and as the global population continues to grow, it becomes increasingly important to enhance agricultural productivity while minimizing its environmental impact. Keeping this thought in mind, the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, SGT University, organized an Expert Lecture on 09 September 2023. 23 Students of Mechanical Engineering attended the lecture. The lecture was informative and provided valuable insights into the future of agriculture. The speaker's expertise and ability to simplify complex concepts were greatly
appreciated. Attendees felt inspired to explore and adopt sustainable engineering practices.
The Q&A session was a valuable addition, allowing for a deeper understanding of the subject.
