Liquid calories are considered “hidden” calories because the body does not feel the same fullness from a drink as it does from solid foods.
Breakfast inspo ➡️ Pesto eggs recipe 🍳
Ingredients:
2 Tbsps pesto sauce
2 eggs
2 Tbsps goat cheese
2 pieces of sourdough bread
Salt / Black pepper / Red pepper flakes
Preparation:
1. Heat the pan
2. Spread the pesto sauce; let it heat
3. Crack the eggs; cook them for 4 - 5 mns
4. Add salt, black pepper and red pepper flakes
Meanwhile, toast the sourdoughs and spread the goat cheese on it.
Finally, place the eggs on top ☺️
Additional: fresh herbs and seasonings 🌿

Hypothyroidism can be a tricky condition to manage, and what you eat can interfere with your treatment. Some nutrients heavily influence how well the thyroid gland works, and certain foods can inhibit your body’s ability to absorb the replacement hormones you may take as part of your thyroid treatment.
As with many health conditions, some factors of hypothyroidism are out of your control, including your family history and the environment around you. But diet also plays a prominent role. And since you’re the one in charge of your plate, you can decide which thyroid-friendly foods to choose.
Some items on this list to avoid may strike you as odd, like gluten and coffee, because for many other diets they’re considered ‘healthy’ or ‘safe’ picks. You can still enjoy these food groups, but moderating how much you have is a good idea when managing hypothyroidism.
But many of the others to watch out for already fall into the no-no category as part of a smart diet, so skipping them, or at least cutting way back, is definitely a no-brainer. These include fried fast-food meals, processed foods, sugary treats, such as pastry, cake, cookies, and ice cream, and excessive alcohol.
So while there’s no such thing as a “hypothyroidism diet” that will make you well, eating smart can help you feel better despite the condition.
The “healthy” cake made with no sugar, no oil, no butter, and no milk… but you’d never tell!

Macronutrients x Calories
SOME SOURCES OF EMPTY CALORIES:
🥤 Soft drinks and energy drinks contain a lot of added sugar
🍪 Cakes, muffins, pastries, cookies, biscuits and white bread
🍩 Ice-cream, donuts, and chips
🍟 Most fast foods – pizzas, burgers, french fries, and deep-fried foods
🥓 Highly processed fatty meats such as sausages and bacon
🍭 Candies, syrups, and sweets
🥃 Alcoholic drinks
All the food mentioned above contain very high levels of fat, or sugar, or both, without much of any other nutrient.
WAYS TO AVOID EMPTY CALORIES:
❌ Try to limit the number of foods containing empty calories to only sometimes and in small amounts by practicing mindful eating.
🥡 Move away from heavily processed food and packaged food to a diet containing more whole and natural foods.
🫛 Eat more nutrient-dense food, such as whole fruits and vegetables, whole grains, beans, legumes, nuts, seeds, and lean proteins.
📃 Read the food labels before buying food items.
🛒 Seek out foods rich in nutrients while shopping for groceries.
🍺 Reduce alcohol intake. Regularly drinking alcoholic beverages may add many empty calories to the diet as there are 7Kcal in 1g of most alcohols.
Acai berries are a grape-like fruit native to the rainforests of South America. They are harvested from acai palm trees. They contain antioxidants that may help boost heart health, improve memory, and protect against cancer.
🧠 Cognitive function: Age-related brain diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease have no cure, but research suggests that diets rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory polyphenolic compounds may lower the risk of these diseases.
Specifically, the antioxidant anthocyanin, which is abundant in acai berries, may lower oxidative stress and inflammation, promoting brain health.
Anthocyanins also have been shown to enhance and improve memory. They are thought to work by inhibiting neuroinflammation, activating synaptic signaling, and improving blood flow to the brain.
🫀 Heart health: Anthocyanin consumption has been strongly linked to oxidative stress protection. The fiber and heart-healthy fats in acai also support heart health. Heart-healthy fats increase HDL (“good”) cholesterol and decrease LDL (“bad”) cholesterol.
But, we need more research into whether acai can help with blood sugar management, and what the right dosage of acai might be.
🦠 Anticancerous properties: Anthocyanins act as antioxidants, activate detoxifying enzymes, prevent cancer cell proliferation, induce cancer cell death, have anti-inflammatory effects, inhibit some of the beginning of the formation of tumors, prevent cancer cell invasion.
📋 Nutritional facts: According to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), one 3-gram teaspoon of acai berry powder contains: 20 calories, 0g protein, 1.5g total fat, 1g carbohydrate, 1g fiber, 6mg calcium.
