Tangled Yoga
Vinyasa and Yin Yoga for beginners in Luxembourg. Macrame designs to buy or get inspired. Life is a gift, but it’s also piece of art.
Each morning we get up to create our master piece adding new experiences, learnings and memories into it. However it can be disrupted by stress, tiredness or any other numerous negative things. Through yoga you can create mindful life, where you become aware of your own “knots”. Some of them you like and want to preserve, others need to be untangled and released. Come and join me in my tangled journey!
My Dear Friends, I have this unstoppable urge to help somehow refugees from Ukraine🇺🇦 Those poor people are queuing now in Polish-Ukrainian border and seek asylum. The process is slow but proceeds. Once they are accepted to Poland, they need the place to stay, food do eat, psychological, legal and material help.
I would like to invite you to my two Wednesday yoga classes where all the income will be donated to Polish NGO Ocalenie Foundation () - an NGO supporting refugees and immigrants in Poland.
Each class costs 20€.
Class at - please book via studio website. Thank you UL for supporting the initiative 🙏🏻

Jalandhara Bandha, the Throat Lock, with Mula and Uddiyana Bandha, is one of the interior "locks" used to control and harness the flow of energy✨ through the body, temporarily preventing prana from moving up.🔃
It is believed by mistics that Jalandhara bandha slows down Amrita (the nectar of longevity) to go down from our third eye to the stomach, where it is burned down by the digestive fire - Agni🔥.
Nowadays is more commonly used during Pranayama practice, although the exception is in poses like Shoulderstand and Bridge, where bringing the chest toward the chin to create the Throat Lock is inherent to the posture itself.
How to apply it correctly? Lengthen you spine (either in standing or seated) and bring your chin towards your chest. Do not force it - they don't need to touch each other. Relax your shoulders, throat and fascial muscles. Ideally hold it after you take a breath in. Keep it as long as it feels comfortable and release it.
Just wanted to remind you, that being kind, selflessly good and supportive towards the other does not make you anyhow “less”, but makes the world better place to live.
Say something kind to the person right next to you, complement your colleague, sand a smile to a stranger, give a place to those that need it more.. just be good 🙏🏻

Uddiyana Bandha, the abdominal lock, by many is misunderstood as a simple abdominal muscles contraction, which is true, but only to some extend and doesn't really express the whole application of that lock.
This particular lock is helpful some some yoga asnas transitions, especially for the arm balances and inversions. One of the most common way of applying it, is the transition from Down dog to Utanasana (forward fold). For sure you saw some yogis doing this transition so effortless, almost floating in the air before they land on the mat. Well.. this is the magic of applying the Uddiyana bandha in practice.
How to apply it correctly? Being either in standing or seated position, round your spine gently like for the "cat". Take your inhale, then exhale and without taking another breath just suck your abdominals up and in. You know that you make this lock correctly, when you feel this indentation between your collar bones, as you suck the whole energy up.
It's not really easy to get to the full Uddiyana bandha on, but it gets better within the time, if practiced regularly. The best time to practice it is either in the morning, after the elimination or at least 3-5 hours after last meal.
Life shouldn't just happen to us.
Waiting for a chance, for a change, for love or for happiness doesn't bring us anyway closer to them. It is the choice that we make everyday that can bring us closer to our aim. Just become change yourself.
Dreams don't come true to those who only dream. Dreams come true to those that are fight for them.

Three Doshas - The Three Mind/Body Types
Dosha literally means impurity. The doshas in their balanced states maintain harmony in the body/mind. In Ayurveda this impurity, or dosha, refers to when a dosha becomes out of balance in the tissues. Each dosha is composed of all the five elements; however, in each of the 3 doshas, two elements are predominant.
Vata: air 🌪and space 🌄
Vata is characterized by the subtle energy of movement. Governs the nervous system, breathing, muscle movement and tissue movement.
Pitta: fire🔥 and water 🌊
Pitta is the energy of transformation, particularly of metabolism and digestion, absorption and assimilation (not only of food, but also of ideas, emotion and sensory input,) and body temperature.
Kapha: water 🌊 and earth 🪨
Kapha governs lubrication, structure, bodily tissues, fluids, lubricates joints, maintains skin moisture and immunity. The water and earth combination of kapha dosha provide the cohesion of the body cells.
You may have heard on your yoga classes teacher saing "activate your Mula Bandha". But do you know, what that actually means? 🤔
If you read previous posts about Bandhas, you already know that "bandha" means "to block" or "to lock". In this particular case if we are talking about the anatomical action within the body, it is more like "to lift" or "to pull up".
"Mula" means "root" and it sits in the bottom of our pelvis -perineum, between a**s and ge****ls. So by activating Mula bandha we understand this lift or pull of the pelvic floor muscles up. Usually women are more familiar with activation of these muscles (either because of birth or exercising Kegel's muscles), but if you still cannot really locate those muscles within your body, imagine yourself this pull up contraction when you want to stop stream of urine when being in toilet 🚽- now you know the muscles, don't you?😅
Mula bandha is located in the pelvic floor 🧘🏼♀️and gentle pull up of its muscles activates also our low abdominals and low back muscles, which stabilizes the bottom of our spine. It stimulates also our organs that are right above. Once you do it, you may feel a bit more as a "whole" or "in one piece", 🤗 if you know, what I mean.
On the energetic level ✨, once Mula bandha is activated, it prevents from "energy leaking" and therefore helps to move the energy from our "Root chakra", which is located in the same place, upward.

How many time you denied or ignored uncomfortable feeling, emotion or sensation coming from your physical body.
The growth starts in acknowledging and accepting the discomfort. Instead of losing your energy to fight it back, just surrender to it. Accept your position.
We are all drawn to all the pleasant and positive sensations but life has such a spectrum of the experiences. Ironically, we wouldn't be able to appreciate and acknowledging them without the contrast with the negative ones.
Take a long breath and just observe how it is to be in discomfort, tame it as the only way out is through.

Accordingly to Ayurveda, everything that exists, whether living or non-living, consist of 5 elements:
Space 🌄
Air 🌪
Fire 🔥
Water 🌊
Earth 🌍
Of course we don’t have to take it literally, but rather in a "metaphorical" way. It is more important to focus on the "gunas" (qualities) of each element, as this will make it easier to understand the whole concept behind it.
🌄Space is the most abstract. Has no shape, has no weight and it’s hard to experience it with the senses. But it’s a “place” where everything happens and exists.
🌪Air is more tangible and can be envisioned as a wind. It’s cold and dry. We can feel its gentle touch on the skin or see how it moves leaves on the tree.
🔥Fire is hot and sharp. It is not a destructive fire, but rather force of transformation. Like a digestive fire that breaks down food into nutritions and nourish our body.
🌊Water is known for its adaptivity. Is also cold and can be perceived with all senses.
🌍Earth is the heaviest out of all the elements. The most dense and rigid. It’s a base for everything to grow.
Pairs of those elements create doshas which we will explore within next weeks. 🧘🏼♀️
✨When: Friday, 22.10, 19:00-20:00
✨Where: - Rue des Glacis 9, 3rd floor, 1628 Luxembourg
✨Tickets: 45€, please book via studio website
✨Included: seed cake and tea after the session and little gifts from J’adore bio store and Love to Light
🔥Make sure you book it right away, as the spots are very limited.🔥
As autumn begins, the Earth's energies turn inward. This is a magical time when the veil between worlds is very thin. We have the changing of energies from the yang of summer to the yin of autumn. From outward expansion to internal awareness brought on by colder months.
I would like to invite you for two-hour yin yoga 🧘🏼♀️🧘🏻♂️and sound meditation with live music 🎶 that I will be hosting together with .The experience is intended to harness these energetic movements using sounds of nature to nourish and relax the mind and body.
Anatomically our hands💪🏻, palms 👋🏻 included, are not meant to bear a weigh. It doesn't mean we cannot do so, but we have to be especially careful, if we want to prevent injures and overtaxing our wrists.
Hasta Bandha, as we continue topic of Bandhas, is an energy, but also a physical lock we create in our hands, more precisely in our palms.
We do it by actively pressing all four corners of our palm into the mat and then curling our fingers ("clawing" the mat). It will activate the fingertips, but in the same time it will hollow center of the palm creating this "pulling" effect of the energy from the ground.
Having Hasta Bandha on, we prevent overextension of our wrists, but also protecting our carpal tunnel from injury. It also activate upper arms, increasing their activation and strength.
✅ The green points represent all the “ideal” touching points of your palm of the mat 👋🏻 Avoid red dots 🔴!
❌ no for “spiders” hands where you support yourself only on the fingers!
❌ no for putting your body weight on your wrists!
❌ no for finger together!
Do you know this feeling when you work so hard, you fight for something and in the end it doesn't work? Well, welcome in the club, we all have been there at least once 🤗
But the more I try, the longer the way is, I notice that it's not where I go, but the path I take to get there, that makes it worth it anyway.
It's all about new people you meet, new things you learn, new inspirations you get and all the lessons you take, that make you richer - not the goal itself.
We just need to notice it and learn how to value it. It's never a fail, it's a lesson the universe wants to teach us.🙏🏻
First discoveries that mention TCM ⛩are believed to be 3000 years old. The tradition has being passed from generation to generation, however, over the centuries its assumptions haven't changed much.
Its basic concept is that a vital force of life, called Qi, flows through the body✨. Any imbalance to Qi can cause disease and illness. Any imbalance is commonly thought to be caused by an alteration in the opposite and complementary forces that make up the Qi. These are called yin and yang.☯️
Main tools used by TCM are acupuncture, moxibustion, Tui Na massage💆🏼♀️, cupping/ scraping, Chinese herbs 🎋 and nutrition 🍜and tong diagnosis.🩺
👣Our feet 👣are made up of a complex design containing 26 bones and 20 muscles wrapped in supportive tissue. No surprise the way we use our feet impacts the whole rest of our body from ankle support to spinal structure.
Pada Bandha is translated from Sanskrit to “Foot Lock.” Pada means “foot” and bandha means “to lock” or “seal.” In Yoga we practice locking or sealing in prana (✨the life force energy✨) so that it can flow through the body to balance and energize our internal organs and systems.
By pressing firmly our foot 🦶🏻to the ground, we create sort of a "tripod" supporting the stance, where the weight is evenly spread between the big toe mound, the little toe mound and the heel - look at the picture. We can do that by energetically lifting the arches using our muscles in the inner and outer legs.
If we consciously create proper alignment in each foot, it would have beneficial effect on the entire lower part of the body including knees, hips, and spine.

We pay so much attention to what everybody can see, that we forget that so much more is in there hidden.
What is you super power that comes from within you? What cannot be seen, but felt or experienced from you? Is there anything you could teach the others or inspire them?
✨Look beyond of what can be seen. There the true self of everybody starts.✨

Ayurvedic medicine -“Ayurveda” is one of the world's oldest holistic (“whole-body”) healing systems. Some sources say the tradition might be even 5000 years old and has its roots in the Indian subcontinent.
It’s based on the belief that health and wellness depend on a delicate balance between the mind, body and spirit. Its main goal is to promote good health and therefore prevent disease, however its treatments may be geared toward specific health problems as well.
Ayurveda, which can be translated as a "knowledge of life" manifests itself through lifestyle practices such as massage, meditation, yoga, dietary changes and the use of herbal remedies.
From my observance, feet are neglected by many. We want to have strong arms, toned bellies or legs, but no one seems to care about feet. Why?
Whatever the answer is, I think we should have a closer look on our feet anyway. Not only because they connect us with the ground, giving the sense of stability and safety, but also because anatomically they are very important to us.
PRO TIP
In your practice try to play a little bit with your feet - spread your toes on the mat, move the body weigh from the heels to the toes and back. Lift your toes from the ground or stand on the toes and see how it changes the sensations of the same pose.
Do you also feel the pressure to be perfect? Perfection does not exist. Chasing for the perfection is like chasing the illusion.
Instead of focusing on your "failures", set up your mind to see them as your own uniqueness. Cherish what's different, celebrate individuality.
Don't allow to be labeled. There is nothing wrong with you - neither with the way you look, nor the way you think or feel.
Set up clear boundaries. Welcome those who respect them and let go those, who drain your energy.
It was on my Yoga Teacher Training in Bali 2019 when I heard about, Ayurveda and TCM (traditional Chinese Medicine) for the first time.
Being developed throughout thousands of years and built out of observance and experience of countless generations, today, Ayurveda and TCM have so much to offer.
Being qualified Yin Yoga and Ayurvedic Yoga teacher I would like to share with you each Friday interesting facts about both systems, hoping you could benefit from those learnings as well.
Human body is fascinating. The more I discover it, the more I am amazed.
It may sound counterintuitive, but it seems to be that either we forgot or actually have never really learnt how to live in our bodies, using its natural ability to heal, regenerate and physically be on the Earth.
Every Wednesday I will be posting some interesting fact about human body in the Yoga practice context with the PRO TIP that could bring your practice to another level.
Each Monday morning I will share with you a thought that could assist you the whole week.
There are so many inspiring things I want to remember, that I would like to create here a "diary" where I could gather all those "gems". I will be sometimes sharing here as well things that are important to me, the ones that open a new horizons or simply help me to become a better person.
I hope you will take something out of it for yourself too.
Yoga is essentially a spiritual discipline based on an extremely subtle science, which focuses on bringing harmony between mind, body, spirit and environment.
Ayurveda, which can be translated as a "knowledge of life", being sister-science to Yoga, emphasizes good health, prevention and treatment of illness through lifestyle practices (such as massage, meditation, yoga, and dietary changes) and the use of herbal remedies.
Being complementary, both systems have been used together for thousands of years, but this tradition has been lost once Yoga was brought outside of India. The secret of healing however, can only happen, when Yoga and Ayurveda go together - one without the other is incomplete.
My own practice has changed completely after I graduated Ayurvedic Yoga teacher training. Such an mind blowing 🤯 and eye opening 😳experience! Now everything makes so much sense 🤩
