Test this: get a couple of guitars both in the same room not too far apart both tuned by same person or tuning forks.
Now pick up one guitar and leave the other leaning against a wall. play one string and watch the other guitar - same one string vibrate. They are in tune.
It is the same with the heart - the strongest internal organ that pumps out a electro magnetic field. This intelligent neural network is tuned and can be tuned through coherent breathing to resonate out whatever emotion we choose. Be it joy, happiness, love or the opposite of this.
Could this be why you feel connected to another person, to the world around us because of resonance?
Can we choose to tune our body, mind and heart into a frequency of our choice. 💞
Contemplating as I’m soaking in my Spa tonight whether I’m up for this challenge I signed up for. I could use a little company so whose willing to give it a go and join Team Colleen. We can champion each other celebrating the wins and help each other not to focus on our perceived failures.
What do you say. Will you accept, modify or totally ditch my challenge - all are acceptable to me. Starts Monday @ 6am and I will update you Wednesday and Friday on my personal progress or otherwise 😉.

36 hour water fast completed Sunday/Tuesday last week.
Completed my first gym program this am - six weeks of strengthening 2/3 times per week plus walking at the amazing world class .
Back to work this week, intermittently fasting with less carbs and good fats.
My personal Discipline is not great with gym work however I have a heart focused why and a weekly coaching session to help me move through my challenges.

The social pressures for our young people these days is huge - 1/3 of our teenagers report that they are overwhelmed with the social pressure to create an image based on comparison and an expectation to achieve some kind of greatness.
Should we really be taking this as "normal"?
I don't believe so. It is not okay for a young person to be persistently sad or to feel hopeless. Having difficulties remembering or making not that good decisions is another symptom that something is going on.
Giving them the tools to empower them so that experience less fear and frustration is paramount. Improving their behaviours and sleep can lead to a happy content and calm student, child, teenager who can then express love, compassion and kindness to their peers at school and at home.
Like children we as adults like to talk to someone without the fear of being judged. There is a hunger for acceptance right through out life but especially for young folk who often then look for acceptance in all the wrong places.
Teaching heart coherence is scientifically proven to improve a child's fear and frustration, obtain self control and deal with anger differently.
So if you can relate to these student's words
"I'm shutting myself off" " I'm hungry for acceptance"
and "if only there was someone to talk to without the fear of being judged"

When was the last time you did "nothing much" and pleased yourSELF?
I realised a couple of months ago that even when I am challenged to doing "nothing much" my learned state is to rush around doing it.
I even made a To Do List for doing "nothing much". This way I could "look busy" doing things that were supposed to relax me, and bring me back to health. LOL! I needed to be seen as decisive, pragmatic, productive, wise, strong and supportive of everyone else...and of course BUSY! This strategy didn't work and it was only when I stopped, observed the absurdity of my actions was I able to embody the rest and "nothing much" and connect back into my heart felt values.
the ability to feel into what I want to do included for me sitting and reflecting on my life, walking on the beach, talking openly with friends over coffee, spending quality time with family, taking a bath, reading a book, sleeping more. My mind became clear, and I was able to start the process of creating dreams again and what's more I have the strength of motivation to make it happen.
Challenges, overwhelming emotions and unforeseen hardships? Most of us have experienced these.
Do you need a person to listen and help with change, lets get curious and consider your options in a safe neutral space.

What is health coaching?
At its heart, health coaching is about helping clients move forward and create meaningful changes for a better tomorrow.
As a certified Health coach with Prekure I recognise that you are the expert on you. During our sessions I will be able to guide you in lifestyle medicine.
Diagnosing and prescribing are beyond the scope of any Health Coach, should you require these services you will need to visit a registered health professional.
The coaching relationship exists to facilitate the creation and development of goals and enable you to develop an action plan/strategy to achieve them.
As a health coach I will not be licensed to diagnose clients, prescribe medication or advise clients to alter their treatment plan from their usual healthcare provider.
I can, however, offer support and guidance on how you might go about having these conversations with your healthcare provider.
As a health coach I am future-focused and although I take a trauma-informed approach to my work, delving into past trauma or psychological injuries is beyond my scope.
Can Mental health be enhanced by taking a broad spectrum vitamin/micronutrients?
- my own personal Blood tests told me whether the circulating level of nutrients in my physical body are within a "normal" range.
- my Blood tests did not tell me and can not tell me what nutrients my brain needs to function well.
- In Julia's two recent studies of both children and adults here in New Zealand 50% improved their wellbeing.
Fascinating facts I am finding out as a student of Mental Health as I continue to ask myself...
AS I work to increase my bodies fitness can I increase my mental fitness at the same time.
This lady, Dr Julia Rutledge and her book "the better brain" is so practical, backed by science and feel a logical way to go.

Reading this book by our very own Julia Rutledge - great to hear her story of what her and colleagues did to assist during the two Christchurch earthquakes and the more recent Mosque attack. I haven't been one for supplements but I get the science - they have a big place in our ongoing health.

Loving my daily messages which reminded me this morning that...
Presence never becomes habitual.
We will never find a formula or technique that will automatically allow us to be present all the time. Such an automatic method of being present would be a contradiction—a way of being awake while we were actually “asleep.”
We do not have to push ourselves, change our basic life circumstances, or use willpower for transformation to occur.
A real, lasting solution lies in another direction—by coming back to ourselves with ever-deepening awareness. The miracle is that to the degree that they are fully experienced, our old, self-defeating structures will begin to dissolve.

It's true I went for walk this morning after being on the computer for a couple of hours - came back and felt so energised and focus.

First off it's me😆 cause this week I am
- off to watch a film in Te Awamutu called Six Inches of Soil and excited I might get to meet up this week with other organic eaters, growers of fruit and veg.
- and I am half way through reading "The Better Brain" and 80% through my Health Science studies with Prekure.

This weekend my daughter looked me in the eye, and with her wide happy smile she said "I am 42 Mum - that means you cannot be in your 40's or even 50's now". It cracked me up and as we hugged each other celebrating her birthday I remembered fondly her at 25 years telling me she would never be half my age again🤣.
Time is just construct in my world and I will keep manipulating the numbers and ignoring those labels when it comes to choosing what I want to do in my life.
I'm still such a novice in the art of health and it is an ART encompassing every intelligence we have throughout our bodies. Going through my archives this morning with a view to recording my history for the kids and grandkids I found records of "a diet" that worked particularly well for me back in 2004. I was desperate to loose weight for an upcoming conference in Calgary as a young 40 something year old woman working at a frenetic pace with teenagers, older parents and a growing business. I was astounded how much I lost, the cellulite seemed to melt away, but it was the clarity of mind, extra energy and the calming effect that this food had on me that motivated me to keep going.
And yes I moved onto Vegetarian, Paleo, Keto and now it's Nutrition as Medicine with this lady Caryn Zinn Dietitian and I find myself in awe of the concept of Health yet again especially through a science lens. Nutrition, behaviours, mental and physical fitness as medicine that can keep us healthy.
