The University of the Philippines Baguio ROTC Unit conducted its eleventh Training Day (TD 11) for Military Science 2 (MS 2) on 18 May 2024.

From 0820-1000 Sgt Lea Mae D Buenafe PA (Res) discussed the topic of Gender and Development (GAD) Awareness. The basic cadets interacted by answering the questions asked by the instructor attentively.

From 1010-1120, Sgt Lea Mae D Buenafe PA (Res) discussed the topic of Survival 2. The cadets had an activity where they created the survival tools presented during the lecture by utilizing the resources inside the campus. MSg Irene F Barroga PA (Res) and Sgt Lea Mae D Buenafe PA (Res) facilitated the discussion along with Pvt Paulo O Tambolero PA (Res) and UP Baguio Cadet Officers. As an assessment, the cadets had a short quiz about GAD and Survival 2 before dismissal.

The cadets were dismissed at 1220H.

The University of the Philippines Baguio ROTC Unit conducted its twelfth Training Day (TD 12) for Military Science 2 (MS 2) on 25 May 2024.

From 0800 until 0810, the cadets gathered at classroom IB 103 for their final examination. MSg Irene F Barroga PA (Res), Pvt Paulo O Tambolero PA (Res), and the Cadet Officers facilitated the conduct of the exam. Before the start of the exam, a short review was held to refresh the minds of the cadets. The coverage of the exam includes the following topics:
a. Drills and Ceremonies 2
b. Gender and Development
c. Map Reading and Land Navigation
d. Personality Development 2
e. Philippine Army Role in Disaster Management
f. Rope Techniques
g. Survival Techniques 2
h. Weapons Training 2

The exam ended at 1030. Afterward, the basic cadets checked each other's papers. Basic cadets who missed some practical examinations were given the opportunity to catch up from 1035 to 1200.

The training day ended at 1200H.

𝑴𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒚 𝑺𝒄𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 2 || 𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑫𝒂𝒚 13

The University of the Philippines Baguio ROTC Unit had its thirteenth and last Training Day (TD) for Military Science 2 (MS2) on 01 June 2024.

Cadets who missed the final exam or had missing requirements were given the final opportunity to complete what they missed. Following this, as a send-off, the cadets had a boodle fight with the presence of the UPB Admin NCO TSg Ruel M Verdejo (Inf) PA.

Afterward, the cadets shared their journey throughout the program. TSg Ruel M Verdejo (Inf), as the Admin NCO, congratulated the cadets for finishing the program before departing. As the event came to an end, the Corps Commander, CCpt Jessa Betache 2Cl shared her stories and Pvt Paulo O Tambolero PA (Res) imparted what he learned from being a basic ROTC Cadet to becoming an active reservist of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

The basic cadets were dismissed at 1300.

The University of the Philippines Baguio ROTC Unit conducted its eighth Training Day (TD 08) for Military Science 2 (MS2) on 27 April 2024.

The training day began with the physical training led by CCpt Romesor C Apolonio 2Cl at the Court A Grounds. Afterward, the cadets were given time to change into their Type C uniform to recall the Drills and Ceremonies and Manual of Arms under the supervision of TSg Ruel M Verdejo (Inf) PA and the cadet officers.

Afterward, the cadets were instructed to proceed to IB 103 for their lecture on Weapons Training: Hand Gr***de where the fundamentals, parts, and mechanisms of hand grenades were taught. The second part of the lecture on Rope Techniques was led by Pvt Paulo O Tambolero PA (Res). The basic cadets were taught the various knots and their applications, after which they were instructed to practice for their practicum. The knot-tying practical emphasized their rapid ex*****on of the various knots.

The cadets were dismissed at exactly 1200H.

The University of the Philippines Baguio ROTC Unit conducted its ninth Training Day (TD 09) for Military Science 2 (MS 2) on 04 May 2024.

The training day began with the basic cadets reviewing their Manual of Arms at Court A Grounds under the supervision of CCpt Romesor C Apolonio 2Cl. Subsequently, they proceeded to IB 103 for their lecture. Before the lecture proper, 1LT EDWIN B VILLANUEVA PA (RES), the Assistant Commandant of the UPB ROTC Unit, delivered a speech to the basic cadets. From 0915H-1015H, Pvt Paulo O Tambolero PA (Res) gave a lecture on the Army’s Role in Disaster Management. This was followed by a class assessment on Rope Techniques and the earlier discussion. From 1100H-1155H, the basic cadets resumed their Manual of Arms and Drills and Ceremonies in IB 103.

The cadets were dismissed at 1155H.

The University of the Philippines Baguio ROTC Unit conducted its tenth Training Day (TD 10) for Military Science 2 (MS 2) on 11 May 2024.

After some stretching exercises, the basic cadets were instructed to change into their Type C uniforms and proceeded to IB 103 for the inspection of materials. From 0820H-0900H, the lecture proper on Personality Development was led by CCpt Romesor C Apolonio 2Cl. Afterward, the lecture moved on to new topics under Drills and Ceremonies such as Pasa Masid, Squad Drills Formations, the proper way of Counting Off, and an introduction to the Manual of the Guidon.

After the lecture proper, MAJ RUBEN L TINDA-AN PA (RES), the Commandant of the UPB ROTC Unit, addressed the basic cadets with his plans regarding the innovation of the following semestral curriculum.

After some announcements from the cadet officers, the cadets were dismissed at 1200H.

The University of the Philippines Baguio ROTC Unit had its fifth Training Day (TD 05) for Military Science 2 (MS2) on 23 March 2024.

At 0740, the training day officially began with the cadet officers conducting the inspection of materials and accounting of MS2 cadets at Court A of UP Baguio. Afterward, the basic cadets proceeded to IB 103 for their lecture, courtesy of Pvt Paulo O Tambolero PA (Res), on Military Customs and Traditions 2, and Military History and Evolution which lasted from 0900H - 1000H.

After the lecture, the basic cadets were given two separate assessments— a group quiz and an individual quiz, followed by a demonstration of the Drills and Ceremonies 2 lecture earlier led by the cadet officers in Court A.

The cadets were dismissed at exactly 1200H.

The University of the Philippines Baguio ROTC Unit had its sixth Training Day (TD 06) for Military Science 2 (MS2) on 13 April 2024.

The training day began with the inspection of the basic cadets’ formation by the cadet officers at the Court A Grounds. Subsequently, the cadets proceeded to IB 103 for their midterm examination wherein they were given ample time to review the discussed topics with the 1401st CDC personnel and cadet officers.

The exam started at 1000H, covering the following topics:
Basic Military Correspondence
Basic Life Support 2
Combat Training of Individual Soldiers 1
Signal Communication 1
Squad Tactical Operations and Battle Drills Overview
Military History and Evolution
Military Customs and Traditions 2
Followership 2

The cadets proceeded to check each other’s papers after the exam finished at 1130H. Afterward, additional announcements and instructions were given by the cadet officers.

The basic cadets were dismissed at exactly 1200H.

𝑴𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒚 𝑺𝒄𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 2 || 𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑫𝒂𝒚 07

The University of the Philippines Baguio ROTC Unit conducted its seventh Training Day (TD 07) for Military Science 2 (MS2) on 20 April 2024.

The training day officially began with COC Angelo Ermita leading the stretching exercises at IB 103. After that, the basic cadets were given announcements from the cadet officers.

The lecture proper on Map Reading and Land Navigation was led by TSG Normalito G Soriano (Inf) PA and accompanied by TSG Ruel M Verdejo (Inf) PA and Pvt Paulo O Tambolero PA (Res). Starting from 0830H-1030H, the lecture involved practical applications using military maps and compasses, equipping the cadets with knowledge for the on-map reading part of the lecture. As a practical assessment, the basic cadets were given grid coordinates and names of locations on the maps and were to determine the opposite of the given questions.

The cadets were dismissed at exactly 1200H.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 || 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐏 𝐁𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐨 𝐑𝐎𝐓𝐂𝐔 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐚 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐖𝐞𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠.

The University of the Philippines Baguio ROTCU Cadet Officers and Cadet Officer Candidates conducted a Live Weapons Familiarization Training on 26 May 2024.

At 0700H, participating cadets, led by Corps Commander CCpt Jessa Betache 2Cl, prepared to depart the University of the Philippines Baguio premises for training at the West Point Shooting Range in Tuba, Benguet. At around 0800H, the cadet officer candidates and cadet officers of the unit, accompanied by the UPBROTCU Commandant MAJ RUBEN L TINDA-AN PA (RES), SSg Gregorio G Balandi Jr PA (Res), graduate military assistant Pvt Paulo O Tambolero PA (Res) and NSTP Director Alodia Leung, arrived at the location.

The training commenced with SSg Gregorio G Balandi Jr PA (Res) delivering lectures on weapon handling precautions, followed by a session on fi****ms' parts, functions, assembly, and disassembly. Afterward, the cadets and cadet officers, under supervision, engaged in live weapon firing exercises at various distances. MAJ RUBEN L TINDA-AN PA (RES) concluded the training with closing remarks.

The training ended at around 1200H as they arrived back on campus.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 || 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐏 𝐁𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐨 𝐑𝐎𝐓𝐂 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐚𝐲

The University of the Philippines Baguio ROTC Unit had its fourth Training Day (TD) for Military Science 2 (MS2) on 16 March 2024.

At 0750H, the training day began with the cadets gathered at the Oblation Grounds for their Physical Training (PT). After completing the PT, the basic cadets proceeded to IB 103 for classroom instruction.

The basic cadets had a topic assessment about Basic Life Support 2 which covered First Aid, Bandaging Techniques, and Carrying Techniques. Afterward, Pvt Paulo O Tambolero PA (Res) provided a short review of CTIS 1 in preparation for the practice of Squad Tactical Operations and Battle Drills Overview.

At about 1020H, the basic cadets, with the assistance of the Cadet Officers and Pvt Paulo O Tambolero PA (Res), proceeded to the Oblation Grounds for a practical performance of the different squad formations discussed. They also simulated different battle drills such as React-to-Contact, Break-Contact, React-to-Ambush (far and near), and Squad Attack. Said activity ended at about 1200H the same day.

The University of the Philippines Baguio ROTC Unit had its third Training Day (TD) for Military Science 2 (MS2) on 09 March 2024.

The training day began at the Court A Grounds to continue their Physical Fitness Test (PFT). After completing the PFT, the basic cadets changed into their Type-C uniforms and proceeded to IB 103 for their class instruction.

The discussions started at 0850H with 1Lt FREDERICK S PEDREGOSA PAF (RES) sharing his knowledge on Basic Life Support 2 and supervising the live demonstrations of bandaging and carrying techniques. As an exercise, the basic cadets were divided into four groups, each performing the carrying technique assigned to them. Before concluding the TD, 1LT FREDERICK S PEDREGOSA PAF (RES) gave a brief lesson on the difference between first aid in the civilian setting and first aid during combat operations.

The cadets were dismissed at exactly 1200H.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 || 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐏 𝐁𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐨 𝐑𝐎𝐓𝐂 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭ed 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝟐

The University of the Philippines Baguio ROTC Unit had its second Training Day (TD) for Military Science 2 (MS2) last 03 March 2024.

From 0800H-0825H, the cadets gathered at Court A for their Sit-Ups event for their Physical Fitness Test (PFT). After that, the basic cadets were ordered to proceed to IB 103 for classroom instruction.

The training day began at 0825H with TSg Ruel M Verdejo (Inf) PA, the Admin NCO of the UPB ROTC Unit discussing Followership 2. This was followed by a lecture on Signal Communication 1. Once done, a simulation for calling a fire mission using a walkie-talkie mobile phone application was conducted to test the understanding of the cadets. Right after, Pvt Paulo O Tambolero PA (Res) discussed Combat Training for Individual Soldiers 1 (CTIS 1) until 1122H the same day. As an application of the discussion, the basic cadets then proceeded to the UPB Oblation Grounds to compete for who would finish the obstacle course the fastest by applying the low crawl and high crawl, two movement techniques that were discussed.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 || 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐏 𝐁𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐨 𝐑𝐎𝐓𝐂 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭ed 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝟐

The University of the Philippines Baguio ROTC Unit had its first training day for Military Science 2 (MS2) on 17 February 2024.

From 0730H-0800H, the cadets were ordered to form at Court A for inspection, led by the Cadet Officers. After that, the basic cadets were ordered to proceed to IB 105 for their orientation and lecture proper.

The training day formally started at 0840H, with an opening program for the ROTC Orientation and Welcoming of Cadets headed by TSg Ruel M Verdejo (Inf) PA, the Admin NCO of the UPB ROTC Unit. After the orientation, at around 0930H, TSg Ruel M Verdejo (Inf) PA proceeded to the discussion of Basic Military Correspondence.

From 1100H-1200H, the cadet officers gave announcements and then led the review of Drills and Ceremonies at the Oblation Grounds. The training ended at 1200H same day.

LOOK|| 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐏 𝐁𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐨 𝐑𝐎𝐓𝐂 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭, 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐚𝐲.

The University of the Philippines Baguio ROTC Unit had its eleventh and last training day for Military Science 1 (MS1) on 08 January 2024. The training day commenced with the cadets participating in the flag ceremony, followed by an inspection of materials led by C1Lt Jessa Betache 2Cl.

After the accounting of cadets, the Cadet Officer-In-Charge (COIC) instructed all basic cadets to proceed to the headquarters of the 14th RCDG, located at Lower Liwanag Barangay Loakan, Baguio City, to undergo training in Weapons Training 1 and Survival Techniques 1. Transportation for both basic and advanced cadets was provided via a van owned by 1LT FREDERICK S PEDREGOSA PAF (RES).

The training day formally began with a lecture on the characteristics and parts of a rifle, general data, eight cycle operations, and the assembly/disassembly of a Rifle Cal 5.56mm M16A1, courtesy of TSg Ruel M Verdejo (Inf) PA. Following a 15-minute break, Cpl Javier C Tan (QMS) PA delivered live demonstrations on the assembly and disassembly of an M16A1 Assault Rifle. Afterward, all cadets had the opportunity to practice these skills themselves until 1150H.

From 1200H-1320H, all cadets, the 14th RCDG personnel, and 1LT FREDERICK S PEDREGOSA PAF (RES) had their lunch break at the training venue. After which, the cadets resumed their practice on the assembly/disassembly of the M16A1 Assault Rifle.

At 1400H, SSg Alfredo C Docasao (Inf) PA demonstrated how to produce fire from bamboo, and cadets were also given time to try it themselves. Afterward, cadets were instructed to proceed to the classroom for a discussion of Basic Rifle Marksmanship.

During this period, all cadets actively participated in the Fundamentals of Marksmanship live lecture and demonstration led by TSg Ruel M Verdejo (Inf) PA. Following the classroom instruction, the cadets were given an hour and a half to practice the Aiming Stick Exercise with a dummy bullet, under the guidance of the 14th RCDG personnel, 1LT FREDERICK S PEDREGOSA PAF (RES), and the COIC.

Finally, all cadets were given time to take pictures with the personnel of the 14th RCDG, including TSgt Ruel M Verdejo (Inf) PA. After which, all cadets were ordered back to the UPB Campus.

After some announcements from 1LT FREDERICK S PEDREGOSA PAF (RES) and C1Lt Jessa Betache 2Cl, the basic cadets were dismissed.

The University of the Philippines - Baguio conducted its tenth training day for Military Science 1 (MS1) last 18 December 2023.

The training was held at Sarmiento Hall where the basic cadets were given their final examination for Military Science 1 (MS1). The examination covered topics on the AFP Mandate, Mission, Function, and Organization, IED Awareness, Basic Life Support 1, Introduction of Infantry Operations, and Fundamentals of Infantry Operations.

After being given ample time to complete their examination papers, C1Lt Jessa Betache 2Cl issued some instructions and reminders to the basic cadets before they were dismissed.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊|| 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐏 𝐁𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐨 𝐑𝐎𝐓𝐂 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐚𝐲

The University of the Philippines - Baguio conducted its ninth training day for Military Science 1 (MS1) last 11 December 2023. The training day began at the Court A Grounds where the cadets were lined up in formation to undergo their physical training under the command of CCpt John Peter B Saquing 2Cl. The cadets performed three sets of exercises: the stretching exercises, the army dozen warm-up exercises, and the army dozen proper exercises. The physical training was concluded with a 10 minute run around Court A.

The agenda of this day’s training day was to conduct the Fundamentals of Infantry Operations training. The cadets were instructed to form at the Oblation Grounds from which they were tasked to perform the different types of movement techniques such as the Low Crawl, High Crawl, and Rush. This was all conducted under the supervision of Pvt Paulo O Tambolero PA (Res) and MSg Irene F Barroga PA (Res).

The cadets were then taught small unit tactics which were simulated under the guidance of CAPT JAY M MAPALO (RET) PA. The cadets performed different squad formation and squad movements followed by react-to-contact simulation and occupying an Objective Rallying Point (OBJ).

After receiving feedback from Sir Mapalo concerning their performance in the simulation, the cadets proceeded with their supplementary lecture on maintaining the correct posture when handling a rifle as instructed by Pvt Paulo O Tambolero PA (Res).

After some announcements from C1Lt Jessa Betache 2Cl, the basic cadets were dismissed at 1225H.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊|| The UP Baguio ROTC Unit led the Entrance of Colors during Pasiklaban 2023, held at the University of the Philippines Baguio on 18 December 2023. The event had the theme "Sumabay sa Himno ng Musika, Makiisa sa Awit ng Masa."

The University of the Philippines - Baguio conducted its sixth training day for Military Science 1 (MS1) last 13 November 2023. The training day began at the Court A Grounds where the cadets performed their physical training which was comprised of stretching exercises, army dozen warm-up exercises, army dozen proper exercises and a five minute run around Court A.
The training day formally started at 0820H with a lecture on Basic Life Support and First Aid, courtesy of 1LT FREDERICK PEDREGOSA (PAFR). This was followed by a lecture on Basic IED Awareness, delivered by the Explosive Ordinance Division (EOD) of the Philippine National Police.
After giving additional announcements and instructions by their cadet officers, the cadets were dismissed at 1150H.

The University of the Philippines - Baguio conducted its seventh training day for Military Science 1 (MS1) last 20 November 2023. The training day began at the Court A Grounds where the cadets underwent their physical training exercises under the command of C1Lt Romesor Apolonio 2Cl. The cadets performed the stretching exercise, the army dozen warm-up exercises, the army dozen proper exercises, and a 10 minute run around Court A.

The training day began with a discussion on various topics about the Philippine Military History and AFP Mandate, Mission, Function, and Organization as given by Pvt Paulo O Tambolero PA (Res).

After the lecture, the cadets were marched to Court A to begin their Manual of Arms training where the Cadet Officers taught them various drills with arms such as such as Agap, Ta (Port Arms), Tanghal, Ta (Present Arms), Kanang-Balikat, Ta (Right Shoulder Arms), Kaliwang-Balikat, Ta (Left Shoulder Arms), and Parade Rest with Rifle.

Finally, the cadets were ordered to return the rifles to the storage unit and were dismissed at 1210H.

The University of the Philippines - Baguio conducted its eighth training day for Military Science 1 (MS1) last 04 December 2023. The training day began at the Court A Grounds where the cadets underwent their physical training exercises under the command of C1Lt Romesor Apolonio 2Cl. The cadets performed the stretching exercise, the army dozen warm-up exercises, the army dozen proper exercises, and a 10 minute run around Court A.

The training day began with several announcements from the cadet officers. This was followed with a practical exam on Drills and Ceremonies 1 which consisted of drills without arms such as the salute, facings, parade rest positions, and the position of attention.

The lecture for this training day was on Combat Training of Individual Soldiers as delivered by CPT JAY M MAPALO PA. The lecture also discussed the Introduction to Infantry Operations where the basic cadets learned squad organization and squad formation.
After some announcements from the cadet officers, the basic cadets were dismissed at 1220H.

The University of the Philippines - Baguio conducted its third training day for Military Science 1 (MS1) last 23 October 2023. The training day began at the IM Plaza where the cadets performed their physical training composed of stretching exercises, army dozen warm-up exercises, army dozen proper exercises and a five minute road run.

Personnel from the 1401st CDC conducted the lecture for this training day. Tactical NCO MSg Irene F Barroga PA (Res) began the lecture with the concept of Health and Sanitation. This was briefly followed by an introduction of the Admin NCO of UP Baguio, TSgt Ruel M Verdejo, who introduced himself to the basic cadets.

Following a brief respite, Pvt Paulo O Tambolero PA (Res) proceeded to discuss the main points of Drills and Ceremonies to the basic cadets. The cadets were then given 40 minutes to practice the basic drills under the instruction of their cadet officers.

After giving additional announcements and instructions by their cadet officers, the cadets were dismissed at 1200H

The University of the Philippines - Baguio conducted its fourth training day for Military Science 1 (MS1) last 30 October 2023 asynchronously due to the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections. To compensate for it, the cadets were tasked to review a powerpoint presentation about AFP Mandate, Mission, Function, and Organization.

The University of the Philippines - Baguio conducted its fifth training day for Military Science 1 (MS1) last 06 November 2023. The training day began at the Court A Grounds where the cadets underwent their Physical Fitness Test (PFT).

The rest of the training day was allocated to the midterm examination of the basic cadets. The topics covered in the exam were Hygiene and Sanitation, Drills and Ceremonies 1, Code of Citizenship, Standards of Conduct of a Soldier, Military Customs and Traditions, Values Transformation, AFP Core Values, Followership, and Values Transformation 2.

After which, the cadets were dismissed at 1200H.

The UP Baguio ROTC Unit conducted its second training day last 09 October 2023, at Court A, the Oblation Grounds and IB Room 105.

The training day began at the Oblation Grounds where the basic cadets were briefed and accounted for. Afterwards, the cadets were ordered to proceed to Court A to perform their Physical Fitness Test (PFT) which concluded at 0745H. At 0800H the Corps of Cadets stood in formation at the Oblation Grounds to observe the weekly flag ceremony.

After the flag ceremony, the Corps of Cadets proceeded with their training day at IB 105 to attend the lectures delivered by personnel from the 1401st CDC. Tactical NCO MSg Irene F Barroga PA (Res) delivered the lecture on Followership while Pvt Paulo O Tambolero PA (Res) discussed the AFP Core Value and Values education. The lectures began at 0830H and concluded at 1100H, this was followed by additional instructions delivered by the cadet officers before the cadets were ordered to return to the Oblation Grounds where the training day was also concluded.

The UP Baguio ROTC Unit conducted its first training day last 02 October 2023, at the Oblation Grounds and IB Room 105. Nineteen (19) basic cadets were in attendance, along with their respective cadet officers.

From between 0730H and 0800H, the basic cadets were lined in formation at the Oblation Grounds for the flag-raising ceremony and to receive instruction on how to properly render a salute from the 2nd Class Cadets.

The training day formally began at 0820H with the opening program of the ROTC Orientation and Welcoming of Cadets, followed by the introduction of UPB NSTP office staff and training staff, which was held at IB Room 105. Also present in the program were UPB ROTC Tactical NCO MSg Irene F Barroga PA (Res) and UPB ROTC Coordinator 1LT FREDERICK S PEDREGOSA PAF (RES).

The course orientation was presided over by CCPT JOHN PETER B SAQUING 2Cl and proceeded with discussions on the organizational chart of the Corps, the program of instruction, grading system, and guidelines concerning communication towards COs and staff.

Between 0900H and 1145H, Pvt Paulo O Tambolero PA (Res) delivered the discussion about the Standard of Conduct of a Soldier, Code of Citizenship, AFP Customs and Traditions.

From 1145-1220H, the cadet officers conducted an orientation on the Cadet Officer Candidate Course (COCC) where the nature of the course, the course subjects, and the incentives for joining COCC were discussed.

The training day concluded at 1245H.
