The Topological Data Analysis Research Group of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science has been selected by the International Mathematical Union as a recipient of its prestigious Graduate Research Assistantships in Developing Countries! Application to the GRAID Program is extremely competitive and we are proud that the TDA Research Group's proposal has been selected for funding support by the IMU Commission for Developing Countries! To quote from the message of IMU

"... your proposal was one of the top ranked applications for the GRAID program. We had many strong applications this cycle and the selection of your proposal speaks to the strength of your research project, collaboration and mentoring of students. "

Under the GRAID Program, the IMU will provide funding support for at least one (1) MS/PhD student member of the TDA Research Group for a period of one to three years to complete an approved research project co-supervised by Dr. David Uminsky of the University of Chicago!

The Department of Physical Sciences is eager to invite everyone to the 29th SINSM on April 4-6, 2024 with its theme, "VIBRANT: Valuable Innovations for Building Resilient And Novel Teaching Methods for Physical Science Education."

The multidisciplinary department will offer lecture-workshops related to 🧪 Chemistry, 🪨 Geology, and ☢️ Physics as well as plenary sessions on Pedagogical techniques, Artificial Intelligence in Teaching, and Different Research Methodologies.

Early registration will start on February 15 until February 29, 2024, while regular registration will run through March 1-21, 2024. Additional registration guidelines will be posted soon!

For the 29th SINSM on April 4-6, 2024, the Department of Biology has the theme “Introducing One Health in Secondary Education: Understanding health and environment in our daily lives.”

The Department will offer face-to-face lectures and guided activities/workshops on the following topics:
🏔 Environmental pollution
🌍 Environmental health
🪱 Parasitology and ecology
🏥 Zoonosis
📋 Epidemiology
🔬 Biomedical research

There are only 30 slots available and early registration period will be from 15 to 29 February 2024 while the regular registration period will be from 1 to 21 March 2024. Registration fee and registration details will be posted on February 15, 2024.

For the 29th SINSM on April 4-6, 2024, the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science (DMCS) adopts the theme “Applying Modern Tools and Methods for Mathematics Teaching and Research”.

DMCS will offer three (3) tracks of lectures and workshops from which participants can choose from. The tracks are:

Track A: Mathematical Investigations and Technology (45 slots)
Track B: Statistical Analysis (30 slots)
Track C: Investigations and Modeling (20 slots)

The Department will also conduct two (2) plenary sessions on the topics Mathematical Investigations and Artificial Intelligence in Teaching and Research.

The early registration period will be on February 15-29, 2024 while the regular registration period will be on March 1-21, 2024. Registration fee and registration details will be posted on February 15, 2024.
