Would you like to experience Japan’s rustic and nostalgic original landscape?
Shirakawa-go, or Shirakawa Village, is located in Gifu Prefecture. In 1995 it was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Siteーa sightseeing spot with magnificent views of the village featuring "gassho-zukuri" homes with steeply pitched thatched roofs.

The Wada Residence, a nationally registered important cultural asset, is a gassho-zukuri home. The first and second floors are open to the public.

The Myozenji Bell Tower Gate and the Myozenji Community Hall are important cultural assests of Gifu Prefecture, while the main hall, the head priest's quarters, and the bell tower are precious temple structures built in the gassho-zukuri style.

Shirakawa-go is visited annually by many domestic and international travelers. It offers a variety of superb cuisine, starting with Hida Beef, as well as many shops where you can go around and try local food favorites. We also recommend going to a shop named Yukinko where you can indulge in their famous sweets including Gohei Mochi, dango, and soft-serve ice cream.

Please make a post and tell everyone which food was the most delicious, and add the hashtag . Then, at the airport on the way back home, also please don’t forget to stop in at “Seek Japanese Food,” a special event that’s currently underway!

Would you like to visit Kyoto’s main shrines and temples?
This is Fushimi Inari Shrine’s Senbon Torii (“thousands of torii gates”), a sightseeing spot visited by people from around the world. It’s one of the highlights of Fushimi Inari Shrine and in total there are some 10,000 torii gates. They stand along a 400-meter section of a mountain path and are a magnificent spectacle.

Next is Kiyomizudera Temple, a World Heritage site.
The panoramic views you can enjoy from the temple's wooden platform will leave you breathless in any season! It's just five minutes by train from Fushimi Inari Station to Kiyomizu Gojo Station, so you can definitely visit them one after another.

Also, if you want to enjoy Kyoto’s distinct food culture there’s Nishiki Market. Its pedestrian way is lined with many souvenir shops and places where you can sample various kinds of food. It’s also known as “Kyoto’s Kitchen,” and we recommend trying some of the many culinary delights found here during your temple tour.

When you’re out trying all the different kinds of food, please be sure to make a post telling everyone what you ate, and add the hashtag . Then, at the airport on your way back home, please also don’t forget to drop in at “Seek Japanese Food,” a special event that’s currently being held!

This summer, how about visiting Mt. Fuji, a UNESCO World Heritage Site?
The climbing season for Mt. Fuji begins in early July, with the best time to visit from late July to mid-August following the rainy season.

Consider stopping by Oshino Hakkai, too. There are eight different springs in Oshino Hakkai. It has been registered as a natural monument in 1934, and as one of Japan's famous one hundred springs in 1985.

Yoshida udon noodles, a local cuisine of Fujiyoshida City, is famous for its chewy noodles, a generous topping of horsemeat, and boiled cabbage.
Those climbing Mt. Fuji should try the Mt. Fuji Melon Bread sold at Amanoya, a bakery inside the rest house at the 5th Station. The majestic mountain inspired the bread's shape and will look great on Instagram!

Please post Japanese food you've enjoyed on your trip with the hashtag . Remember to also drop by Seek Japanese Food, an event scheduled at Tokyo’s airports, on your way back home.

Why not enjoy a walk in Tokyo wearing a kimono? Countless kimono rental stores are near Sensoji Temple, a popular sightseeing spot in Tokyo's Asakusa district. Strolling around Sensoji Temple in traditional attire while experiencing the history of the land will make an unforgettable memory.

We recommend visiting the Nakamise Shotengai (shopping district). General merchandise shops and eateries are lined up along Nakamise-dori shopping street, which connects the main temple of Sensoji and Kaminarimon (Thunder Gate). Do try the red-bean-filled ningyo-yaki treats sold at Kimuraya Honten, where this confection supposedly originated.

If you enjoy Japanese food at summer events, please post your photo with the hashtag . Remember to also drop by Seek Japanese Food, an event scheduled at Tokyo's airports, on your way back home.
