Remember COVID-19 and safe management measures? Stella Wong, Deputy General Manager (Integrated Programming), and Julian Chua, Assistant Director (Arts) from Our Tampines Hub, were 2 of the many public officers who worked behind the scenes to keep community spirits up at the height of the pandemic.
And as we emerged from the pandemic, they and other public officers moved to adapt programmes quickly again to keep us connected and emerging strongly together as a nation.

"What can we do better?" Having a positive mindset and continuously seeking innovation and service transformation enables Verena Lee and her team at the National Library Board, to experiment and try new things.
To better understand the needs of persons with disabilities, Verena, Head (Accessibility), and her team volunteered at various organisations. They also attended training to conduct accessible programmes.

"The youths of today are not soft. Being exposed to many narratives on all kinds of issues, they are having a more difficult time than what I had, but it doesn't mean that we don't journey with them," said Mr David Chua, Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Council (NYC) and father of four.
In this interview with Challenge, he also shared candidly about his 8-year leadership journey at the helm of NYC: “It’s how you work with people, how you go to the ground, how you listen, communicate, and work through issues – that’s the real grind of leadership.”

"To see them go from not going to school, to attending school – these small wins are what keeps me going,” said Muhammad Sufri Ramli, an educator who previously volunteered as a youth mentor at the Tasek Academy and Social Services. Today, he's seconded to Tasek, and continues to apply his skills in youth development and mentoring to help uplift youths there.

His first mentor was his primary school discipline mistress. Today, Wei Xiong is mentoring her children and other youths. Watch this video to find out how Wei Xiong, a policy officer in the Ministry of Education, is making a difference as a volunteer with The Astronauts Collective (TAC).
Under the Public Service For Good movement, many public officers like Wei Xiong are volunteering their skills to create impact beyond their job. At TAC, Wei Xiong helps youths explore and discover meaningful careers, while honing his skills in curriculum design, stakeholder management and mentoring.
“It’s such an adult world,” Ee Lin’s interns often tell her.
As volunteer mentors under the Public Service-ITE Internship Programme, Ee Lin and her team at the Central Provident Fund (CPF) Board make time to coach and care for the students interning at their service centres.
“It gets me excited to see how they grow. The skills they learn as they serve our citizens will be very helpful for them as they go on to pursue their careers.”
