The 17th Malaysia-Singapore Senior Executive Development Programme (SEDP) was conducted in Singapore from 6 – 10 May 2024, followed by a Malaysia Leg from 13 – 17 May 2024. Co-organised annually by Civil Service College Singapore and the National Institute of Public Administration, Malaysia (Institut Tadbiran Awam Negara), the SEDP provides a platform for senior public officers from both countries to network and exchange insights on issues of mutual interest. Under the theme of “Building Our Future Together”, this year’s SEDP participants had the opportunity to hear from speakers from both Malaysia and Singapore on topics of mutual interests such as governance, sustainability, and leadership. Multiple learning journeys were also undertaken to sites of interest such as Our Tampines Hub, ITE College West in Singapore and Institute of Biodiversity in Malaysia. For many participants, the biggest takeaway was the strong cross-country friendships forged over the two-week programme. 🇸🇬🇲🇾

The 2nd Civil Service Exchange Programme (CSEP) was jointly organised by National Civil Service Agency (NCSA) Indonesia and Civil Service College (CSC), and held in both countries, with the initial meeting in Singapore and a reunion in Jakarta that saw officers from both public services forge warm ties of friendship. The programme was initiated and led by NCSA Indonesia and the Public Service Division (PSD) Singapore

NCSA collaborated with the Indonesia National Development Planning Agency (Kementerian PPN/Bappenas) and Sumedang Regency to enrich the programme with site visits to public agencies, as well as knowledge sharing by public service leaders and practitioners. Views exchanged cut across agency boundaries and country context, embracing trends in hybrid work, digital government, and green investments.

Beyond Jakarta, officers experienced first-hand the Indonesia High-Speed Rail (Whoosh) and were warmly received by Sumedang Regency which provided an immersive introduction to local culture and the harnessing of technology for social impact.

We look forward to more possibilities for mutual visits and collaboration with our Indonesia friends and colleagues! 🇸🇬 🇲🇨
