I got to carry clientβs baby whilst mommy takes care of her body in peace as baby falls asleep π€
Baby T is quite used to my voice as she had been to Pre-Natal Pilates with mommy since conception.
Fun Fact: When Baby T was in her mommyβs tummy, she would be less wiggly when her mommy activated her core more. Extra snuggly!

Pelvic Girdle Pain (PGP) or
Symphysis P***s Dysfunction (SPD):
Pregnancy-related uncomfortable symptoms caused by stiffness of pelvic joints or joints moving unevenly at either the back or front of pelvis.
This client was happy to share that in her third pregnancy, her SPD pains were better managed as a result from our sessions.
She is looking and feeling fabulous postpartum! π·

My Ultra Runner friend is on my Wunda Chair rehabilitating after a serious injury.
I saw his shirt from the back during our session and thought I would share about his accomplishment.
He competed in Ultra Trail Race in Mount Fuji (UTMF), Japan, in 2015.
This race took:
3 years to prepare
6 months to rehab from meniscus tear
A couple of disruptions during prep
170km to complete
7889m of elevation gain
35hr 47min to clock (no sleep!)
He came in 175 out of 1363 that participated with only 41.5% completion rate amongst the competitors.
He did a superb job πͺπΌ
His high level of physical toughness, mental grit, discipline and positivity inspires me.

Pilates is meant to keep clients from being injured through suitable exercises given to them and some instructors can even provide rehabilitation for their clients through Pilates.
Personally, I clocked in almost 1000 hours in my teachersβ training programme, and that was only the beginning for me.
Having appropriate experience in teaching clients with various different conditions is another level of learning.
It is not easy for clients to find the right instructor for themselves as many clients cannot tell the difference in the instructorsβ teaching qualifications, the equipment used and the methods applied.
Pilates is meant to be safe for all and that safety is provided by the instructor.
Find yourself an instructor who is ethical, knowledgeable and has your interest at heart.

There is no such thing as too much Pilates!
But there is such a thing as too much of everything else especially as we get older.
Scarlett Johansson does Pilates 3-5 times a week. That is the sweet spot of frequency for optimal results.
Realistically, not all of us can afford the time and/or money for Pilates, nor do we need to be Black-Widow-fit. So most of us do 1-2 times a week. Itβs ok.
Choose healthy & balanced movements for our bodies on non Pilates days so that our body can carry us through the week with minimal or no injuries and progress til our next Pilates session!

Dedicated client fractured some toes before Chinese New Year (CNY) but came back for sessions post-CNY and found relief on toes from carefully selected exercises to hasten the healing.
In addition, there are many exercises we can work on in Pilates that we can work around the injured parts.
As long as you show up, there will be some form of rehabilitation within a workout in store for you!
