Governor Hochul Announces Year-End Results of Initiatives to Keep Highway Workers Safe 12/07/2023

Over the first six months of the Automated Work Zone Speed Enforcement pilot program:

⬇️ Average speeds have decreased in Thruway work zones
⬇️ Average violations issued per month have dropped
✅ Safer work zones for our employees and motorists

▶️

Governor Hochul Announces Year-End Results of Initiatives to Keep Highway Workers Safe With Winter weather setting in, Governor Hochul highlighted the year-end results of initiatives designed to keep highway workers and motorists safe.

12/07/2023

The ask is simple: slow down in work zones. Speeding in work zones is the number one factor endangering the lives of our highway crews. Work zone speed cameras, Operation Hardhat, and the existing Move Over law's enhancement protect highway workers and drivers and hold motorists accountable. Slow Down, Move Over, & Stay Alert. Please respect our crew members and the vital work that they do. More Here: https://bit.ly/3GEwNVX
