At the SEGA/ Brunswick Grand Design RV Rally, we met Mr. and Mrs. Lykins and their 4-legged children, Ivy and Bogie. This family was kind enough to visit with us from the flower town in the pines, Summerville, SC. With their southern hospitality, they felt right at home sharing a little Battle Buddy Supporter love ❤️ for our K9 officers. Ivy looks like a young pup next to the mature, near 15-year-old Bogie, who is a Champion in AKC Show and Jr. Hunter. Say "hello" !

We love for kids to learn early the K9s are there to protect them. McKenna was happy to pose with our Ambassador Mark Ware Music as he shared about their value with mom, Abbie Hansrote, at a recent event in Social Circle, GA. Isn't she just adorable?

Former Black Rock Canines owner David Rivera Jr. was sentenced Monday at Waterbury Superior Court (CT) to 5 years with 2 years to be served in prison and 3 years probation. He will be allowed to keep the current family dogs but is prohibited from owning any new pets, can’t be responsible for the training of any animals and can’t work or own a business associated with animals. The business is a training facility for potential police & military canines, in addition to privately owned dogs.
Police alleged numerous German shepherds, Belgian Malinois and Labrador retrievers were abused and injured at Black Rock Canines. Employees euthanized 10 dogs with a firearm and detectives uncovered the remains of 4, Naugatuck Police Chief Colin McAllister previously said. In 2022 state & local animal control officers removed 31 remaining dogs from the business.
Rivera said immediately before he was sentenced that he takes responsibility for the actions of his employees. “I do indeed love animals and that’s why I went to this career route,” Rivera said. “I never trained any dogs. I’m deeply sorry for those actions but they were not mine.”
Pictured is Deputy Sheriff & K9 Handler Christina Brewerton of Bucks County Sheriff’s Office in Doylestown, PA, testifying at the hearing that when she first met Zeke – a Black Rock Canines survivor – in August 2022 he was a shell of a dog, malnourished and scared.
Brewerton received aid from Hometown Foundation and CT local authorities to bring Zeke home to be trained for law enforcement.
“His transformation has been nothing short of miraculous. Despite his physical frailty and fears – especially of men – he showed an incredible capacity for learning and healing. His resilience shines through every obstacle, every loud voice and every crowd he faces.”
Zeke is certified in explosives detection and has since become further certified in the mastery of tracking and evidence recovery through the Penn Vet Working Dog Program.
K9 Zeke and Deputy Brewerton are a sponsored team of our Irondog K9 International family. Justice has been served and now Zeke can continue to fulfill his destiny, protecting the citizens of Bucks County.

Our condolences to the Lawrence Police Department, Sergeant Bishop and his family in the untimely loss of K9 Justice.
The Lawrence Police Department regrets to inform you that one of our beloved active K9’s, K9 Justice, passed away unexpectedly this morning while off-duty. K9 Justice suffered a medical emergency known as Gastric Dilatation and Volvulus (GDV), also commonly known as Bloat. Despite the best efforts of the VCA Beech Grove Animal Hospital staff and his handler, Sergeant Bishop, K9 Justice did not survive.
K9 Justice joined the Lawrence Police Department in August of 2020 and has faithfully served with his handler, Sergeant Bishop, since January of 2022.
We would also like to extend our gratitude to Loyal and True Pet Cremation Services by Loose Funeral Homes for always taking such great care of our K9 Heroes.
Please keep Sergeant Bishop, his family, and the extended Lawrence Police family in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate this tremendous loss.
Way to go K9 Simcoe!
🇺🇸K9 Simcoe Captures Criminal🇺🇸
Earlier today, Wapato Police located a recently reported stolen vehicle out of YSO that had been involved in lots of criminal activity on the East end of Yakima County. A vehicle pursuit ensued after the suspect attempted to elude Wapato Police.
Zillah Police Department assisted with setting spike strips in the area, with the suspect bailing out on foot and running from officer. An eagled-eyed Zillah Sergeant spotted the suspect running through some hop fields and a perimeter was established.
K9 Simcoe and the guy that holds his leash arrived for the adult version of hide and seek. A nearly 1/2 mile K9 track ensued and the suspect was found hiding in some brush. He surrendered peacefully and later admitted to stealing the truck a few days prior.
The deputies pictured below were crowned hide and seek champions 🏆special thanks to our partners at City of Wapato Police Department, Zillah Police, Sunnyside Police Department, and the Washington State Patrol for assisting.

UPDATE on K9 Streeter.
K-9 Streeter and his handler Deputy Stimmel stopped by to see Sheriff Simmons today at the office.
Streeter is doing very well! He had some rib bruising and other minor injuries from the impact of his jump, but he is excited to let everyone know he will be cleared soon and back to chasing the bad guys!
And yes, for those asking…we have told him many times “you are the goodest boyyyyy!”
Prayers for K9 Streeter!
What an incredible weekend! The temperatures weren't the only thing HOT at this event. The Grand Design New England Rally in Massachusetts knocked it out of the park in their fundraising for Irondog K9 International through various activities. Kyle, Stephanie and Adi Burnett represented the organization while Officer Alison Pollini and K9 Phoenix of West Windsor Police Department from New Jersey shared how support has made a difference for them. Thanks to all who made this a success!

We always look forward to supporting our departments with quality training aids. Deputy Christina Brewerton and K9 Zeke, representing Bucks County Sheriff's Office, were able to pick up their Tripwire NexGen K9 Kit, which contains 20+ live explosive target scents, for K9 Zeke and K9 Emma to be sure they, and all of their local K9 colleagues, have the best opportunity to intercept a potential threat. We are proud to sponsor the best for our Law Enforcement K9 Teams!
