From Vision to Reality
Formed in 2017, The Truth Teller, Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization and is dedicated to providing opportunities for disadvantaged African American youth. We launched our inaugural program, A.P. Torrence Youth Leadership Academy, in June 2018 with the goal of exposing 25 African American males aged 10-15 to a unique learning experience focused on equipping them with the tools needed to help them become and thrive as productive leaders in their schools, families and communities. The Leadership Academy dramatically impacted the lives of 16 young men, with 11 finishing the Academy powerfully.
We are already preparing and planning for 2019 by expanding our reach and building support. Our intention: create a culture shift and living legacy of future African American male leaders for our communities and our country. The candidates for our 2019 Leadership Academy are all around us. They are in our neighborhoods, schools, and churches. They are waiting for us to take the initiative and show an interest in their lives -- to wholeheartedly support their awakening as the conscientious leaders they were born to be.
