Two days left to contribute!
The Aquinas Center is hoping to raise $5,000 this month to grow our Spanish-speaking community programs. Your generosity will expand our outreach to the Spanish speaking members of the Archdiocese of Atlanta, who comprise the largest race and ethnic group at 43.8% of the Catholics in the Archdiocese of Atlanta1.
In 2019, the Aquinas Center began our work to build Spanish speaking programs that address emerging theological questions. Our work has evolved over the years to hear directly from the community to determine programmatic needs. We plan to expand this our offerings in both the short-term and in the years to come to represent the growing and predominant Spanish speaking population.
With your support, the Aquinas Center can reach our goal of $5,000 to expand our Spanish program offerings!

The Aquinas Center’s Mission is clear that our Catholic programming needs to represent the rich diversity of the Church both broadly and locally. Valeria Longhi, our Hispanic Program Coordinator, shares more about the Aquinas Center’s exciting work she is proud to be a part of! Valeria’s work centers in connecting with the heart of the Spanish speaking community, understanding their theological needs, and curating programming that resonates with their lives.
To expand our programming, Valeria is conducting a second round of focus groups this spring, which have already revealed a desire for deeper theological engagement among our Spanish speaking community. But it's not just about discussions and developing programming; it's about meaningful action. We've already witnessed the power of our events, like the transformative 'Mental Health and the Dignity of Family' held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Together, we delved into the challenges faced by families grappling with mental health struggles, fostering empathy and understanding.
Our most recent program at Divine Mercy Catholic Mission with Cardinal Christophe Pierre illuminated Pope Francis' profound vision for the Synod. With each event, our community grows stronger, more connected, and more inspired.
