Counselor Spotlight📣📣

The CSTC would like to recognize retired Master Trooper Albert Nelson of LSP, and current Lieutenant with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Since our camp inception nearly 25 years ago,
M/T Nelson has led the Horsemanship Program. This program builds confidence, and also gives kids the opportunity to learn about proper care for horses. Most importantly, it provides safety measures while horseback riding.

His time and dedication to this program has provided invaluable knowledge to camp atendees, as well as memories that will last a lifetime..

The CSTC is appreciative of your selflessness and leadership. We are certainly blessed to have you.

Lead by example. Your teen is getting the keys, and you're terrified, right? If you trust her enough to give her the keys, you know she's ready. But are you ready to lead by example? Be the driver you want your teen to be.

1️⃣ NEVER DRIVE ON HIGH BEAM

Drive on low beam or Fog lights. Low beam direct light down onto the road and makes you visible to others on the road.

2️⃣ IN CASE OF ZERO VISIBILITY

Follow painted lane markings of the central verge of the road as a guide.

3️⃣ BE PATIENT

Do not overtake vehicles or pass lines of traffic.

4️⃣ INDICATE WELL IN TIME

Give left/right indicators at least 10 seconds before you take any turn.

Calling all TEENS 🫵did you know all of these traditional safety components? Parents, review with your child and make sure they are setting an example for safe driving!

10/19/2023

School is in session! That means more children outside waiting for the bus during certain hours. Slow down and watch for children playing and gathering near the bus stop.

10/19/2023

Your teen looks up to you more than you think. Set a good example for them when you’re behind the wheel—don’t drive distracted or impaired, don’t speed, and always wear a seat belt.
