Congratulations to U.S. Army veteran Currie Tighe, a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) student at the Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing who has been named a 2024 Tillman Scholar by the Pat Tillman Foundation.
The Foundation honors the service of former NFL player and U.S. Army Ranger Pat Tillman by investing in future leaders. Tighe, a former Army emergency room nurse who retired as a captain in 2022, is one of 60 veterans and members of the military community selected for this year's cohort from among nearly 1,600 applicants.
Tillman scholarships will fund their pursuit of higher education in impact areas such as health care, business, and STEM, allowing them to continue serving their communities.
