We are excited to announce that, beginning Wednesday, February 21, RPMx, the private contractor for the Ownsby Parkway Reconstruction Project, will begin the paving of the two westbound lanes of Ownsby from Preston Road to Coit Road. Once this paving is completed, the first two lanes will re-open to traffic. This paving phase is anticipated to last for a minimum of two weeks.

In order to achieve this quick re-opening of Ownsby Parkway, the contractor will be setting up a temporary small batch facility at the southwest corner of Ownsby Parkway and Coit Road. If the weather cooperates and other necessary infrastructure items are completed, we expect the small facility to only be up and operational for approximately four weeks.

We know how excited our residents are to have this much-needed parkway open for their convenient commuting needs. We understand the burden that construction projects may cause, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this time. As this first phase of Ownsby Parkway opens, we know all drivers will appreciate this upgraded infrastructure project.

Celina's historic Water Tower will be lit Red, White, and Blue this evening in honor of Presidents Day.

Our Celina Office of Emergency Management Division recently announced the installation of five new outdoor warning sirens that will be located across the community. Our outdoor warning sirens will serve as an important tool to alert residents in the event of severe weather.

The Celina OEM will be conducting testing on the first Wednesday of the month (depending on weather conditions) to ensure the effectiveness and reliability of these new outdoor warning sirens.

To answer questions from the community about the upcoming expansion of the Dallas North Tollway and the associated construction activity, the City will be hosting a Public Meeting on Tuesday, February 6, at 6:00 PM. The meeting will be located at Two29 on The Square (229 W Pecan St). City officials will be present to provide information about the expansion project, as well as answer questions. We encourage any interested members of the community to attend.

The City of Celina understands the concerns expressed by some of our residents regarding the potential concrete batch plant site for the construction of the upcoming expansion of the Dallas North Tollway and appreciates the opportunity to work with our county leaders and the private contractor to find a resolution in the matter. The City was informed by the private contractor today that they have withdrawn their application for a permit to construct a concrete batch plant near the Dallas North Tollway and the Collin County Outer Loop. City officials are currently working with the contractor to identify a viable option that allows the contractor the necessary resources for the construction and expansion of the Dallas North Tollway that sits as far away as possible from any of our developed communities.

To answer questions from the community about the upcoming expansion of the Dallas North Tollway and the associated construction activity, the City will be hosting a town hall meeting on Tuesday, February 6th at 6 PM. The meeting will be located at Two29 on The Square, 229 W Pecan St. City officials will be present to provide information about the expansion project, as well as answer questions. We encourage any interested members of the community to attend.

𝙍𝙊𝘼𝘿 𝘾𝙇𝙊𝙎𝙐𝙍𝙀: 𝘾𝙍 𝟖𝟑 🚧

CR 83 from Vest Ln/Quail Hollow to Marigold will be closed to through traffic. Access will be maintained for residents who have directly affected driveways, but all other neighborhood traffic is to use Preston Circle or Quail Hollow/Vest Ln. We are coordinating with adjacent projects on traffic detours and access. The closure is estimated to be 90 days; weather permitting. Please plan for delays and be on the lookout for construction crews. See the traffic control plan to see if this affects your daily route.

Thank you for your patience as we continue these improvements. During road construction dates, please plan for traffic delays or use an alternative route while the roadway is under construction.
