Monica is now a certified pelvic rehabilitation practitioner!! 🥳 We are so proud of her and can’t wait to see what more she accomplishes 🙌
Today was Elizabeths official last day at El Paso Pelvic Health. It’s so crazy to think that just 3 years ago it was just the 3 of us in the office trying to get the clinic up and going with patients. Seeing where we are today is truly so beautiful to see. Elizabeth will be dearly missed by not only the staff here, but also the patients who have grown to love her as much as we have. We wish her the absolute best in all her future endeavors ❤️ P.S. The dress code for the picture was animal print 🐆😂

📢 It is with much excitement that I (Dr. Elizabeth) introduce you to Dr. Stephanie... the NEW owner of El Paso Pelvic Health. 🎉⠀
⠀
Dr. Stephanie is a Certified Pelvic Rehab Practitioner who also owns Inertia Health and Wellness in Midland, Texas. She's excited to bring her skills to El Paso and be part of the team here. ⠀
⠀
I want to thank everyone for their support over these last 3 years. It has truly been a blessing to serve this community and be part of so many of your journeys. I loved seeing your comments as you stayed in touch after graduating or moving. You are amazing.⠀
⠀
I needed to step down to concentrate on my family, but I want you to know that you're still in excellent hands with the rest of the incredible staff at EPPH. This company isn't going anywhere. El Paso Pelvic Health is still growing and, with what Dr. Stephanie brings, I'm sure the next 3 years will be even better. 🤍🤍🤍
It’s always so wonderful when a patient graduates pelvic rehab at El Paso Pelvic Health 🥳
Just a little reminder for you 😉 S*x is actually an exercise for your pelvic floor and it helps with good circulation of blood flow. Having a healthy sexual experience creates a happy and healthy pelvic floor 🫶🏼
💛💛💛
Happy 3 YEARS to El Paso Pelvic Health!!!
In the last 3 years we have helped over 1000 cases of pelvic floor dysfunction, hip pain, back pain, pelvic pain, p***c symphysis dysfunction, etc.
We have helped people decrease their pain, decrease their leaking, decrease their fear.
We have seen people move better and live better.
We send people away running more, laughing more, jumping more, traveling more.
This work is so rewarding and we love it but we didn’t get here alone. We owe a big debt to the people who have helped us grow.
Thank you to the providers who trust us with their patients and clients.
Thank you to the patients who’ve become ambassadors that tell everyone they know to come see us.
Thank you to those who like, comment, and share on our silly videos and posts.
This is only the beginning, El Paso. There is much much more to come.
We would like to welcome a new member to our team! 🥳 This is Christine. She is a 3rd year student physical therapist at USC. Christine is originally from San Diego. On her free time she enjoys playing with her three pugs 🐶 , going to the gym 🏋️♀️ , hiking when the weather permits it 🥾 and going to the beach 🏝️. She wants to pursue pelvic health because believes it has a niche population that isn’t widely known and people can truly benefit from it.
We are so excited to have her here!
It’s the new year and you might have a few goals in 2023! 🥳 But maybe those goals can be set back by pelvic floor issues, such as leaking and pain. We can help What goals do you have for 2023? Comment down below ⬇️
When potty training a child, it is normal to take them to the potty about every 15 minutes. When we are adults, it needs to be a totally different story. It’s not normal to go to the restroom every 15 minutes. We should be going to the restroom to void urine approximately every 2-4 hours ☺️
HO HO HO 🎅 don’t forget to use a squatty potty when you have TO GO 💩🚽
With the holidays approaching, we know it can be difficult to get to your appointment. That’s why we offer virtual Telehealth visits. If you have any questions comment them or send us a DM 🤭
I could not ask for a better team. This work family (and not pictured) is the best 🤍
Did you know we do labor and delivery consultations for pregnant women?
We have in-person as well as telehealth video options.
Stay tuned to see a reel on some of our favorite things to do with pregnant patients!
Let’s celebrate! 🎉 El Paso Pelvic Health’s owner Dr. Elizabeth is officially BOARD CERTIFIED in WOMENS HEALTH PHYSICAL THERAPY.
If you’re not familiar with the WCS, it’s the highest level of certification for pelvic rehab that is recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association.
Elizabeth sat for the test in February after 9 years of learning, studying, and practicing pelvic health. The test includes many categories within the field, including lymphedema, cancer, trauma, chronic pain, pediatrics, and athletes. Even though the certification says “Womens”, it has competency questions for males and transgender care. After 4 long months of waiting, she just found out she passed 🥳
Drop a comment below to help us celebrate the only board-certified Pelvic Health PT in West Texas! 🔥
It always gives us so much joy when our patients graduate pelvic rehab!! This amazing mamma put in all the work to recover postpartum!!
It’s summer time which means a lot of people are going out for vacation! Many people with pelvic floor issues fear traveling but we have a few tips to help you out.
☀️Continuously practice diaphragmatic breathing
☀️ Try to urinate every 2-4 hours
☀️ If it has been less than 2 hours since you last urinated do 5 quick pelvic floor contractions to help ease the urgency
☀️ Try to minimize bowel and bladder irritants
Hope this helps!
Summer means lots of schedule changes, childcare changes, and even last minute trips.
Good thing we offer telehealth services!
We will do your session “face to face” over video, go through your homework, add new exercises, and teach more self-care or manual techniques.
We have even taken patients from day 1 to graduation exclusively through telehealth by guiding them through their own exam and treatment along the way!
Telehealth can be a great option for wellness check-ins. We do these for people who were discharged from physical therapy and doing well but then need helping navigating something new later on. We also do consultations for those who live out of the state (or the country).
DM or call us if this is something you’re interested in!
It’s the 2022 International Mens Health Week. 🎉
This week was designed to bring more awareness to male health issues so of course I’m going to talk about males and pelvic health all week!
Pelvic rehab is NOT just “a female problem”.
Guess what? Males have pelvic floors too!
And pelvic floor dysfunction in a male can look like:
🎟 feeling like you’re spending all day either in the bathroom or like you have to go
🎟 you can’t empty your bladder all the way
🎟 it takes a while for urine stream to start (this doesn’t always mean prostate issues!)
🎟 constipation, straining, can’t empty bowepls
🎟 sharting
🎟 tailbone pain
🎟 issues with arousal, er****on, and climax (including pain)
🎟 low belly or inguinal pain
Stay tuned for more male content this week 🤓
“As soon as I eat something I have to poop.”
A lot of times when I hear this, the person assumes that whatever they are eating right then needs to come out immediately.
When in reality, the pathway to 💩 is quite long. In fact, the average time for food to make it from mouth to toilet is about 72 hours.
The act of chewing your food helps stimulate peristalsis, or the movement in the intestines.
So if you struggle with constipation, choose a breakfast you have to chew. When we first wake up in the morning, our gut is extra ready to push things along and chewing your food can help you clean out the system.
This means avocado toast could be a better option for your bowel routine than a green smoothie. (But, remember everyone is different and you’ll need an individualized assessment to determine if this is what your gut needs.)
On the flip side, if you struggle with overwhelming urges for a BM and fears of not making it to the bathroom, pelvic rehab is great for that, too.
Because at the very end of this long pathway is a group of voluntary (controllable and trainable) muscles. Including the external a**l sphincter and levator ani (pelvic floor muscles).
As always, drop your questions below. ⬇️
Bowels aren’t my favorite subject, but they are a solid number 2 😜
This is what we do at El Paso Pelvic Health: ⬇️
We give people 𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬.
It’s the freedom to leave your house without the worry that you’re going to have an accident.
It’s the freedom to run again, jump again, lift weights again … with whatever color pants or shorts you want to wear.
It’s the freedom to explore pleasure again.
It’s the freedom to laugh, cough, sneeze whenever it comes to you.
It’s the freedom to have another child again. And without fear.
Let pelvic rehab give you wings.
