Montana Vista Fire Rescue provides fire and medical emergency response in El Paso County, TX. Montana Vista Fire Rescue, Inc.
serves the far east side of El Paso County to include Homestead Meadows, Hueco Tanks, and other unincorporated areas. We respond promptly to Fire and EMS calls, and bring the emergency to a conclusion safely.
Our department demonstrated colleague support this past Saturday, as Montana Vista Fire Rescue and Horizon Fire conducted joint burn training exercises.

Yesterday evening, our dedicated firefighters participated in an intense and crucial live fire training exercise. This type of hands-on training is more than just a routine drill—it's an essential part of preparing our team to respond effectively in real-life emergencies.
Live fire training allows our firefighters to practice critical skills in a controlled environment, giving them the experience they need to stay calm and focused under pressure. It helps them understand fire behavior, refine their techniques for entering burning buildings, and enhances their ability to rescue victims and protect property.

Members of our department met with the Law Enforcement Club at Mountain View High School to discuss volunteering and potential opportunities within MVFR.
Recently some of our newly hired candidates had an opportunity to visit MVFR Staion 2 and learn about the apparatus housed there. Candidates are required to become familiar will all equipment and apparatus operated by the department as part of their probation program.

Currently, members from Montana Vista Fire Rescue and San Elizario Fire Rescue are attending an Emergency Care Attendant (ECA) course led by ProAction Emergency Services Institute and hosted at MVFR. They’re learning essential emergency care skills to better serve the community. Upon completion, they’ll be eligible for their National Registry exam to earn their ECA certification.
Yesterday, firefighters participated in a focused training session on airway management. Each firefighter trained and practiced skills appropriate to their level of expertise. This hands-on session emphasized the importance of maintaining proficiency in critical life-saving techniques, ensuring that all team members are well-prepared to provide the highest level of care in emergency situations.
Last night, Montana Vista Fire Rescue conducted a comprehensive orientation session for 15 new members, marking a significant expansion of the team. The event included detailed briefings on operational procedures, safety protocols, and the department's mission and values. The new recruits had the opportunity to meet with senior members and tour the facilities, ensuring they felt welcomed and prepared for their roles. This orientation is a crucial step in integrating these new members into the team, emphasizing the importance of teamwork, dedication, and community service that Montana Vista Fire Rescue stands for.
Earlier today, crews from Montana Vista Fire Rescue, along with El Paso Fire Hazmat units, provided mutual aid to Hudspeth County in response to a rollover incident involving a tanker truck. The incident occurred along US 62/180 at mile marker 50. Tragically, the driver of the truck succumbed to injuries at the scene. The truck was carrying diesel fuel, and the tank ruptured, resulting in a HAZMAT situation off the road. The roadway was reduced to two lanes at the time of the incident. No further updates are available at this time.
Montana Vista Fire Rescue provided mutual aid near the Rio Grande on Sunland Park today, with no injuries reported.
