The staff bringing the El Paso Mexican American Cultural Center to life have been busy presenting free workshops, planning the unique features that will make the Center special, and connecting with our community. This week, we’re excited to sit down with you for our next meet and greet, tomorrow evening at Pavo Real Recreation Center! Stop by to learn what’s coming from the MACC and share your ideas for what programming you’d like to see.

La Nube and La Rodadora, a children’s museum in Cuidad Juarez, will both have the interactive exhibit “Connected Sky” for their guests to utilize and respond to the other museum in real time.

“Connected Sky” is a 28-foot-wide video wall that guests can interact together in both museums by creating cloud forms, share rainbows, shoot fireworks, create paper planes and more!

On the anniversary of the Korean Armistice Agreement’s signing, join El Paso Museum of History to learn about El Pasoans’ experience with the Korean War. Excited for La Nube to open next month? Visitors downtown can already get a glimpse of our installation! “Weatherscape” is a sculptural canopy that channels weather conditions with areas dedicated to wind, water, and sun. Piece: FUTUREFORMS, Photos: J Genaro Limon.

“Acts of Kindness: The El Paso Play” was created through first-person interviews with community members in the year following August 3rd. In partnership with UTEP College of Liberal Arts and UTEP Department of Theatre and Dance, El Paso Mexican American Cultural Center is bringing the play to our city for the first time. Performances are free at El Paso Museum of Art on August 2, 3, and 4.

Texas Book Festival Reveals 2024 Poster Artist | Glasstire The Texas Book Festival has named El Paso-based Zeke Peña as its 2024 Festival poster artist.

Our newest lobby pop-up exhibit is all about fakes! Starting Friday, visitors to the El Paso Museum of Archaeology can learn:

We are honored to share that our city museums have received the Blue Star Museum designation. This collaboration between National Endowment for the Arts and Blue Star Families helps connect active duty servicemembers and their families with museums across the country that offer free admission between Armed Forces Day and Labor Day.

Although our museums are always free, we’re proud to participate in this program and want the Fort Bliss community and visiting military families to know they are always welcome at El Paso Museum of Archaeology El Paso Museum of ArtEl Paso Museum of History.

We’re one week into the newest exhibit at El Paso Museum of History! “Neighborhoods & Shared Memories: Rio Grande to Franklin Heights” showcases the development of Central El Paso neighborhoods from the 1910s through the 1940s.

Come by Wednesday-Saturday between 10am and 6pm or Sunday, 11am to 3pm to see the latest in this series of local history exhibits!

This weekend, celebrate with POSE AT THE MUSEUM at El Paso Museum of Art. From 6-9pm on Friday, catch performances from local drag artists, screenings of “Paris is Burning” and Andy Warhol Polaroids on display. The pop-up exhibition continues throughout the weekend as we close out June with Pride!

Tomorrow, we celebrate ! Our offices and all city museums will be CLOSED as we mark the holiday. Short for “June Nineteenth,” Juneteenth commemorates the day in 1865 when enslaved people were emancipated in Texas, over two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

The El Paso Museum of Archaeology is joining the WinterFest fun at San Jacinto Plaza this Saturday, December 9th beginning at 5 p.m.

Visit them for a family-friendly activity – Christmas Ornaments Workshop - where you’ll be able to create a free Christmas ornament (while supplies last) to take home.

El Paso-born artist Art Garcia's "Ferrocarrilero" is a public art piece playfully calling attention to the huge efforts of so many people, including Chinese immigrants in building the railroads that grew El Paso. Completed in 2013, the piece is sited on the Campbell Street Bataan Railway bridge traversing Downtown and even features a timeline only visible to pedestrians.

Join the El Paso Museum of History for Kids Table, a new youth-focused version of our ongoing Community Table series. During this event, participants (ages 3-18) will learn about the origins of atole and how to make it. Atole is a nourishing, warm drink that is part of Mexican culture. In this hands-on workshop, children and youth will make two types of atole: the classic champurrado (chocolate) and atole de guayaba (guava), both of which are corn-based. Parents and guardians will enjoy a cup of atole prepared by their children at the end. Rubí will also create space to share and learn together about the cultural significance of this Mesoamerican drink.

This workshop will be led by Rubí Orozco Santos. Rubí is a poet, narrative writer, and environmental writer working at the intersection of food and language.

The Community Table series is generously supported by Albertsons.

Please note the ingredients for potential allergens: nixtamalized corn masa, piloncillo, cinnamon, Ibarra chocolate tablets (includes soy), oatmilk, fresh guava, and unrefined cane sugar.
