Yesterday, the Amistad team joined our friends at the City to celebrate the proclamation of "El Paso Helps Day". This program was designed to connect individuals in crisis with essential community resources.

Amistad serves as the 24/7 Street Outreach Program for unsheltered individuals within our community. Clients utilize El Paso Helps to seek transportation to emergency shelter. We're grateful to our partners at the City for prioritizing underserved populations.

The Amistad ADTRC Team recently attended the 15th Annual Crimes Against the Elderly Conference hosted by our friends at Adult Protective Services.

June is Elder Abuse Awareness Month, and today is Elder Abuse Awareness Day!

Up to 5 million older Americans are abused every year, and we at Amistad believe older adults should be treated with dignity and respect. We have a strong commitment to our clients, and hope to raise awareness this month and every month.

Celia is celebrating her fifth year with Amistad! She serves as Amistad’s Chief Operating Officer. With the assistance of her management team, she ensures programs are running smoothly and providing the essential services to those in need. Our friends at the GECU Foundation recently hosted a Matching May fundraising event. 12 local nonprofits were selected to participate, and would receive a matched donation from GECU.

Thanks to community donors, Amistad raised over $12,000 and received a $24,000 match from the GECU Foundation!
