Let's celebrate Ella Burrier, a proud graduate of FCCS, as she steps into her new role as the Vice President of the Maryland State FFA. We are thrilled and honored by her accomplishment, and we continue to be proud of all FCCS alumni.

Frederick County Public Schools is pleased to share that three of the six newly elected 2024-2025 Maryland State FFA officers are Frederick County Public School graduates.

The announcement of newly elected officers was made during the 96th Maryland FFA State Convention at the end of June.

Frederick High graduate Abigail Effland will serve as the 2024-25 Maryland State FFA President. Effland served as the Frederick FFA Chapter President. She was also the 2023-24 Frederick County Dairy Princess.

Catoctin High graduate Ella Burrier will serve as the Maryland State FFA Vice President. She served as the Catoctin FFA Chapter President.

Brunswick High graduate Mia McGuffin will serve as the Maryland State FFA Reporter. She served as the Brunswick FFA Chapter President.

FFA is a youth organization that prepares members for leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education.

Last night, the Frederick Classical Charter School's chorus delivered a stellar rendition of the National Anthem at the Frederick Keys game! A big round of applause to the talented scholars for their outstanding performance, and a special shoutout to Mr. Pastena for his exceptional direction. Well done to everyone involved!

The 8th grade scholars at Frederick Classical Charter School had a whirlwind of a week! Their promotion ceremony was a sight to behold, filled with touching speeches from the staff and valedictorians that left not a dry eye in the room. The heartfelt words spoken during the ceremony truly captured the dedication and hard work these students had put into their academic journey.

As the final day of school approached, the 8th graders were treated to a special clap out, an annual tradition at FCCS that celebrates their accomplishments and sends them off with cheers and applause. It was a bittersweet moment as they said goodbye to their middle school years and looked ahead to the adventures that awaited them in high school.

To all of our alumni, please know that your FCCS family is always cheering you on and you are always a part of FCCS. Your time at our school has left a lasting impact and we are proud to see you continue to grow and succeed in all your future endeavors. The eagerly anticipated annual Royal Feast for the second graders was finally here! It was a magnificent event filled with joy and excitement. The young scholars indulged in a medieval feast and were serenaded by the talented Dr. P, Mr. Pastena, Mrs. Welde, and Mr. Kenny. They experienced a knighting ceremony and took part in a traditional time-period dance. It truly was a day to remember! A big thank you to Queen Brown and Queen Weber for making it all possible!

The first ever STEAM Night hosted by FCCS was a huge success, providing scholars with a hands-on learning opportunity through a variety of science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics activities. The team from Destination Imagination showcased the impressive items they had created, captivating the scholars with their innovative designs. The scholars were actively involved and left the event with a wealth of valuable knowledge.

A special shoutout to the Robotics Competition Team 686 Bovine Intervention, comprised of talented high school students from Frederick, whose mesmerizing robots were a highlight of the night.

We want to express our appreciation to Mrs. Karen Yoho for taking the time to visit and participate in our amazing event. Thank you for your support!

We extend our gratitude to Kona Ice for their delicious treats and generous donation to Frederick Classical Charter School. The scholars were delighted by the tasty shaved ice!

To conclude their exploration of Ancient Greece, our fourth-grade students organized a lively Greek Festival! Everyone, including the students, teachers, and volunteers, dressed in traditional Greek attire and participated in Olympic-style games like the Javelin Throw, Shot Put, and Discus. The festival also featured delicious Greek cuisine for all to enjoy. A huge thank you to Mr. Duke, Mrs. Shea, and all the volunteers who helped make this event a success!

We are so proud of our scholars who participated in the Life Skills after school program this year at FCCS. They celebrated their end of the year accomplishments completing an escape room challenge, and having a lunch discussion with local mediation professionals and lawyers. Through applying their Problem Solving and Resolving Conflict skills they are honing their critical thinking and social skills for their future.

Once again, the annual end-of-year picnic for Frederick Classical Charter School was a success! Students of all ages enjoyed a variety of activities, accompanied by music and delicious desserts. Teacher Appreciation Week at Frederick Classical Charter School was an unforgettable celebration!

On "Meaningful Monday," our school was buzzing with excitement as doors were adorned with special decorations, and students showered their teachers with heartfelt notes and drawings.

"Tasty Tuesday" was a hit with a delicious catered lunch from Cafe Rio that had everyone raving.

"Wonka Wednesday" brought a sweet treat for our hardworking teachers, who enjoyed an array of delectable snacks and sweets.

"Therapeutic Thursday" brought some well-deserved relaxation, as our teachers were treated to a rejuvenating yoga session led by parent volunteer and BoT Trustee, Aimee Bowersox.

"High Five Friday" was the perfect end to the week, with teachers receiving high fives from their students and enjoying a delightful ice cream social.

Thank you to the Volunteer Sub-Commitee for all of your hard work and planning.

FCCS scholars had an amazing time participating in Penny Wars all week long! The classrooms with the highest points will be declared the winners. It seems like some classrooms might have a lot of money, but there's a twist - they were sabotaged by silver coins from scholars in another classroom!

FCCS, along with our National Junior Honor Society, will be donating the proceeds to Blessings in a Backpack. A big thank you to Mr. Mannix, the NJHS scholars, and all the students and staff who joined in on the fun! Let the competition begin and may the most deserving classroom emerge victorious!
