First debris pickup done! Thousands more to go! ✅️
Greenville County's disaster generated debris pickup is officially underway! We wanted to share a bit more about this process and hopefully answer any questions you might have:
🚚 We have 50+ trucks dedicated to this effort - some very large like the ones pictured here, and others smaller and more nimble to help reach more remote areas!
🗓️ This will be a month long process - we will be making multiple pickups on every county maintained road, on several different days. So, if you can't get it all out right away please know that we will be returning for additional pickups! Please be patient as we will make our way to everyone.
⚠️ It is important that the debris is placed on the public right of way (the area that extends from the street to the sidewalk, ditch, utility pole or easement) We ask that you do NOT block the roads themselves in putting out your debris.
🚫 Do NOT place debris near power poles, mailboxes, meters, fire hydrants, or cars, etc.
🌳 This pickup is for disaster generated debris (think loose vegetation, trees & limbs) - do NOT put out bags of trash, as it will NOT be collected by our trucks.
👍️ The County will also be opening drop off spots - as soon as we have more information we will share an update on that as well!
⚠️ Please take extreme caution when cleaning and removing debris from your property and never let children play on a debris pile.
These roads face "long term" closure due to washout from flooding.
Detours are in place.
