MADD Power of Parents presentation is done to empower parents and guardians to check in with their children and have these important conversations to ultimately develop a closer bond. Parents and guardians are said to be the biggest influence on teens choices to drink underage and what they do behind the wheel. They want to educate parents on how to address these topics and why it is necessary to consistently have these conversations.
MADD Power of You(th) presentation is for middle and high school aged students. Their goal is to establish a relationship with all of the middle and high schools on Oahu as well as any youth groups so that they can reach as many youth as possible. This presentation goes over the dangers and consequences of underage drinking, resisting peer pressure, how it impacts their health, not riding with an impaired driver, and a few other important topics.
Don’t forget to register! Free professional development sessions focused on incorporating the art and science of Universal Design Learning into Hawaii classrooms. Offered in a hybrid model, both at Chaminade in Brogan Hall Room 103 and on Zoom.
