Seams Wonderful is a sewing program of Kokua Kalihi Valley. from Asia and Pacific Island nations who face many barriers accessing the workforce.

Our sewing program began in 2008 to help create economic opportunities for women who arrive in the U.S. We start with five sewing machines and 30 women participating in our sewing program and ESL classes. Today, we have 20 sewing machines and over 300 women coming through our program each year. Many of our women are recent immigrants from different areas of the Pacific and now live in Kalihi. Most
