A Better late than never post ... on May 17th we held our 42nd annual golf tournament. It had a few touch and go or no go moments. Torrential rains, flooding for days on Oahu had our golf committee wavering and worried if this year's tournament could go on.
But the rains did stop, the clouds parted, the sun came out and voilà we had our tournament. A big Mahalo to the 100+ golfers and volunteers who trusted our emails and came out to Ala Wai.
Through this endeavor and with the support of the insurance industry and industry support services (private investigators, TPAs, remediation companies, accountants and others) we raised the funds to meet our target and donate $5000 to the University of Hawaii - West Oahu Risk Management and Insurance program
Thank you one and all... we appreciate you now and always.
Thank you so much for the overwhelming support of the Windward Coast Emergency Preparedness Fair at Windward Mall this past Saturday! We were represented by CPCU, UAH, HAIP, and HIIA while being supported by Crum & Forster, DTRIC (Martha Nobriga took the photos), Farmers Insurance/HIC, First Insurance, HIG, Island Insurance, Noguchi & Associates, Pyramid Insurance, RLI, and the Hawaii Insurance Division. The overwhelming support proved to be just right with the attendance being greater than anticipated and resulted in engaging discussions. A 6-Day work week? Many of us in the insurance profession have been doing this most of our careers. But is this a good thing to become the new normal? Is it wise for various industries, to have tired & burnout employees working extended hours, which could create more hazardous work environments?
