If this family looks familiar to you, it’s because they were the 2022 Oscar winner of HFDR Foster Fail Family adopting three of our seniors. They are our golden angels continuing their devotion to our senior furbabies. Ann nka Anngie found herself alone when her former owner passed. Our angels opened their hearts and home once again intending to foster Ann until her forever family could be found. They realized it may be a long term foster as in addition to her age, she had tested positive for Cushing disease. But neither hurdle stopped them from falling in love with Anngie and today they officially made her a part of their pack. We cannot express our gratitude and happiness to have such a wonderful family as a part of the HFDR Ohana and wish them the best that life has to offer.

Bambi (1st picture) and CeCe had an appointment with Dr. Yamagata, ophthalmologist at Hawaii Veterinary Vision Care. When Bambi was transferred from HHS, we're informed she's most likely born with one eye. However we found out her right eye was damaged in the past and shrunk. She can't produce tear. She'll need lubricant meds several times a day from now. Great news is her ulcer was treated thank you to her foster for giving her eye meds multiple times a day. However we're also informed her right eye is very fragile and needs to be careful not be damaged. What if it ruptures? There is a surgery she could have. So we know there is a solution for this worst scenario. Bambi is still patiently waiting for her forever home. She's 14 years old, 8lbs girl. If you're interested in her, please fill out an application at https://hopefordogsrescue.com/Adopt

According to Dr. Yamagata, Cece's eyes have been this very white for a long time because of cataract. She did a couple tests, but she didn't respond to that. She thinks she's fully blind. Unfortunately there is no procedures or meds that she could have her eye sights back. She also believes lasic surgery won't work for her as well. But she's currently at a foster to adopt home and having a happy life. We're hoping she gains some weights in next several months. So she can have a dental and spay surgery.

Melody had a consultation with Dr. Williamson, neurologist at VERC. Dr. Williamson was very friendly and professional and we had a great time and she gave us couple options that we could try before adding more medicine to control her seizures and her behaviors. We're changing her diet first and see how she may change. She's already on 3 medications and hoping we don't need to add 1 more. Depending on how she does after we try other options, we probably need to do MRI. She has seizures every day. Please pray for her🙏🙏🙏 We'll keep you updated. Thank you, Dr. Williamson for your professional advice🙏🙏🙏 Thank you, Melissa All Dogs Grooming Honolulu for fostering Melody.

She's vaccinated, spayed and on monthly preventive.

Gus is patiently waiting for his forever home.

Gus was initially rescued by one of our dedicated foster and her friend as he was tied outside all day for an unknown period of time. We understood that he was a gift but the family did not want him. Thus, he spent his days in this unhealthy environment until rescued. Gus was adopted last year but due to unforeseen circumstances, he is back with us. Fortunately, he is a social pup, friendly, active, playful and healthy. He is fine with children but because of his size, he may knock down the little ones. He needs an active family who could give him the activity he needs to thrive. He's 1 year old, 54lbs, pitbull mix boy. If you're interested in him, please fill out an application at https://hopefordogsrescue.com/Adopt Thank you! *More videos are in the comments.

He's vaccinated, neutered and on monthly prevention pills.

Alumni Update on Kit and Penny❤️

Hazel (fka Kit) and Oreo (fka Penny) are enjoying their life! We don't need to explain anything, but you can tell how happy they are just looking at the pictures. We're very grateful that their family spoil and give them the best forever home. We always LOVE to hear from our adopters❤️❤️❤️

Hazel and Oreo were from a homeless camp. When Oreo came to us as a puppy, she was a runt. And she was not a strong girl. She had fever right after she came to us and we rushed to vet. She's adopted once, but unfortunately returned. But we know she's at her forever home and her family will never leave her behind. Oreo didn't know how to go potty outside, but her mom worked so hard and she has no issues going potty outside today! Hazel had pretty bad separation anxiety and had diarrhea anywhere even in the car. Look at her now! She's very confident!!

They were both transfered from Hawaiian Humane Society as they were terrified at the shelter. But as you see, they're friendly to other dogs, active, smart and fast learners. More videos are in the comments.

Alumni Update on Junior

Look at this beautiful family picture 💕 It's been over 4 years since Junior Boy's adopted. He's enjoying his best life with his family. He gets very spoiled and gets tons of love from his family❤️❤️❤️ Thank you to his family for giving him the best forever home he truly deserves. We're so grateful to hear from our adopters.

Junior Boy came to us as he's left behind by his previous owner. We're informed he's originally from Maui and came to Oahu. Then his previous owner became an alcoholic very bad. He couldn't care for him and didn't want him. He moved back to Maui leaving Junior Boy on Oahu.

Where is Wilson's forever family?! He's been with us over 800 days (over 2 years). He's patiently waiting for his forever home🙏🙏🙏

He came to us because his previous owner was about to euthanize him as he's diagnosed with IVDD and couldn't use his back legs. We decided to take him in to give him a 2nd chance. As you see in the video, he can run today. He didn't have a surgery, but our medical foster did rehab. Also, His personality has changed a lot. He's such a happy dog now!

He is 20lbs, min pin mix, 4-5 years old boy. He is an independent guy, but also loves getting affection. He is good with other dogs, but doesn't do well with puppies and high energy dogs. He has lived with a cat, ok with older children who can follow rules. He LOVES going for walks and is very food motivated! He listens well, has a strong recall and understands house rules. He needs a house with a fenced in yard without stairs and needs a family who is patient and willing to help him bond with his forever family as he may need to take some time to adjust in a new environment. *More videos and pictures are in the comments.

If you're interested in him, please fill out an application at https://hopefordogsrescue.com/Adopt Thank you!!

He's vaccinated, neutered and on monthly prevention pills.

Alumni Update on Frankie❤️

His mom made this beautiful slideshow😍😍😍 Isn't it so nice to be loved unconditionally? Thank you, Frankie's family for not giving up on him! We're very grateful to receive alumni updates from our adopters💕💕💕

He was transferred from the Hawaiian Humane Society. According to HHS's medical records, he was dumped at HHS multiple times. We were informed that his last owner left him with his father and the father dumped him at HHS. Frankie has one eye as you can see. It seems he was born like this. He's very skittish and didn't like to be carried and he also hated to put a harness on. It was hard to find a perfect forever home for many months until his forever family adopted him. We're so grateful that he found the best forever home that'd never leave him behind. Thank you for spoiling him. He REALLY needs it😍😍😍

Update on Bonsai 🙏

He went to Dentistry Pet Specialists of Hawaii today. Dr. Constantaras checked his teeth. She said he has quite a bit of inflammation of the tissues next to the diseased back molars which is suspicious for stomatitis. He also has ulcerations overlying the tissues over the relatively healthy canine teeth which further supports stomatitis. Dr. Constantaras adviced to extract of all remaining teeth although this may need to be staged depending on how long it takes her to extract those lower molar teeth that have a hooked front root. Extracting these molar teeth possibly break jaw. So she needs to work very slowly. Please help Bonsai so he can have this challenging surgery. The estimate is $4,274.34 and $5,464.39. (See the attached picture). If you could donate even $1, $3, $5, that helps a lot!!!! He's scheduled to have this surgery on July 30. This date may change as he's on a wait list as well.

UPDATE: FOSTER FOUND. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT❤️❤️❤️

We need your help🙏🙏🙏

This is Ann. Her owner recently passed away. We're looking for her original rescue and/or foster. If you know which rescue she was under before she's adopted some years ago, please message us. Her owner's sister who doesn't live on Oahu doesn't know which rescue she came from.

Ann needs a foster immediately. Her owner passed away recently and was hospitalized for about 3 weeks. Ann's been at her home alone and a dog walker comes to feed her. WE NEED A FOSTER 🙏🙏🙏 Please help!! She is about 15 lbs, 11 years old, gets along well with other dogs, unsure about cats as she wasn't around them, loving, friendly with people, has good moderate energy, loves walks/needs a walk after breakfast and dinner, house trained, obedient to commands. She used to go out busking with her owner and was very good at getting tips, and as you can see, very calm on the busy street, however, she is not fond of skateboarders and would bark at them if they zipped by.

If you can help her by fostering, please fill out an application at https://hopefordogsrescue.com/Adopt

She's vaccinated, on monthly prevention pills and spayed.

🙏Update on Verdi🙏

Verdi is doing so well at his foster home. He went to recheck and his toes are very nicely healing! His lab results also came back and we found out he's resistant to so many antibiotics. This was the reason his toes were not responding well to regular antibiotics. So, he's on 4 right antibiotics! Thank you to everyone who has supported Verdi❤️❤️❤️ Thank you to his foster mom for caring for him🙏🙏🙏*video is in the comments.
