The Janesville Mobilizing 4 Change (JM4C)’s Project HOPE dinner yesterday was one for the books!

Not only did the St. Paul's Outreach Team (SPOT) and La Hacienda Real provide an AMAZING meal, we also knocked out a City of Janesville, WI Strategic Planning “Meeting in a Box” and gained additional support from Rock County Human Services.

What a way to start the week! 🥰

UW-Madison, Division of Extension Rock County from 9-11A with tastes and then Hedberg Public Library joins us in the afternoon!

Join HPL Children's Room staff at the Janesville Community Center, Inc. Freedom Garden (305 Lincoln St.) for a nature activity and outdoor games on Monday, July 22 from 2:30-3:30 p.m.

The program is geared to kids ages 5-11, but the entire family is welcome. No registration is required.

❤️ Last week, JCC was invited to Better Together: A Multicultural Storytime - a collaborative program brought to you by City of Janesville, WI, UW-Madison, Division of Extension Rock County and Hedberg Public Library.

Our very own Board of Directors Treasurer, David Salmon, engaged littles in a seed-themed song and shared information about our Freedom Garden.

We are collecting art supplies for teens that enter foster care.

Staff are now required to give a flyer to any teen entering foster care age 14 and older and they would like to add some art supplies with the flyer.

We will be collecting art supplies through the end of June if you would like to donate. Must fit inside a one gallon ziplock bag.

Colored pencils, adult coloring books, paint sets, markers , etc.

Impacted by last weekend’s tornado? Resources and support are available today!

On the evening of Saturday, June 22, an EF-2 tornado touched down on the south side of the City of Janesville. In response to the weather event, the City has been operating a coordinated volunteer center to connect residents in need with volunteers. As of 4 p.m. on Monday, June 24, the coordinated volunteer center is closed and will not reopen.

While the coordinated volunteer center is now closed, the City of Janesville, in partnership with Rock County Emergency Management and the American Red Cross of Southwest Wisconsin, is sponsoring a Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC) to provide essential recovery services from governmental and nongovernmental agencies to residents impacted by the tornado and related severe weather.

The MARC will host a Resource Event for affected residents on Tuesday, June 25, from noon to 6 p.m. in the Beckman Mill Room at the Dr. Daniel Hale Williams County Resource Center (1717 Center Avenue). The event will provide an all-encompassing hub for community members to access disaster-related relief services and information. The MARC brings together representatives from local and state agencies and essential support organizations. No registration is required to attend the Resource Event. Residents in need of additional resources in the interim may contact 211.
