Adat Ari El Jewish Learning Community
The JLC is Adat Ari El's dynamic, exciting, and experiential approach to complementary Jewish education.
The Kenneth & Marilynn Friedman Family at JLC is the Supplemental Jewish Education community at Adat Ari El, serving students in Grades K-6. Our goal is to elevate the child and their learning experience while building solid partnerships and relationships between the families, the teachers and the Adat Ari El Community.

Camp Addresses 2021 I'd love to send your child a personal note while they are away at camp this summer!!
THANK YOU...to all of our moms, grandmoms, aunts, "aunts", nannies, special friends, teachers, and everyone else who has taken on the sacred responsibility of helping to care for and nurture our entire community. There is nothing you all do not do...and in turn you teach our kids that they too can achieve and thrive!
Shabbat Thoughts:
In this week's parsha, Yitro, Moses is visited by his father-in-law, who observes him in action as the leader of the people, and gives him some wise counsel. Upon observing Moses trying to single-handedly hear all of the issues of the people, Yitro tells him that he's going about it all wrong, and that just because he has been appointed the leader, he cannot do it all.
“The thing you are doing is not right; you will surely wear yourself out, and these people as well. For the task is too heavy for you; you cannot do it alone."
I, along with the other heads of school of Adat Ari El and from across LA are being honored tonight. Since March, we have worked tirelessly to ensure that our programs continued, our teachers were trained, our children were seen and heard and our families were included. I did none of this alone. I thank you all for your many kind words and wishes, and for the ways in which you have supported our efforts. I am grateful to Leah Rosenzweig, PA Chair and all of the parents who have helped out in various ways. I am grateful to our teachers, for trusting in me as a leader, for sharing their own expertise and knowledge, and for their flexibility and unwavering commitment to our kids, I am grateful to our clergy, lay leaders and our full professional staff for the work they do day in and day out to sustain our community. I am grateful to my many teachers and mentors and to my "tribe". If I am a strong leader, it is because I know that I cannot do it all on my own. Even the most skilled surgeon would never remove their own appendix...their hands might be sure, but their perspective and their angle is all wrong for the job.
Whether you are seeing our world now as the "new normal" or the "now normal", as a process of accepting or adapting...we are all doing it together. The JLC continues to grow, and the joy of Jewish learning is very present and powerful within our many walls.
May we all continue to be strong together...we make a heck of a team.
Shabbat Shalom,
Julee
