Our small school has 140 students and the families are close knit. We have a rigorous academic program with high quality fully-credentialed teachers. Students have the same teacher year after year for the subject disciplines and the teachers really get to know the strengths and gaps that each student has and adjusts their instruction for this. Lots of collegiality and rich learning at the 2024 California Charter Schools Conference. Always so nice to see Ivy Bound Academy founding Executive Director Mr. Kiumars Arzani, CSUN’s Steve Holle, and CSMC’s Tom Nichols.

At this time, IBA school is open on Monday, February 5, 2024. We have warm classrooms and warm food for all students. However, your family’s safety and your property’s safety should always be your first attention. If your safety and that of your property requires your attention, then you should definitely tend to those needs. Also, if the road conditions are such that you can not safely come to school without risking your safety, don’t come. If you miss school tomorrow, any work can be made up and work deadlines will be extended.

En este momento, la escuela IBA estará abierta el lunes 5 de febrero de 2024. Contamos con aulas cálidas y comida caliente para todos los estudiantes. IBA's 5th and 6th grade students enjoyed rich day with beautiful weather at the Getty Villa in Pacific Palisades. The Getty Villa Museum houses Greek and Roman antiquities in a re-created Roman country home. In addition to the antiquities, there are many interactive learning activities at the museum. Big thanks to the Getty Villa for providing the nice coach bus free of charge to our school, and for our great IBA teachers that taught our students today--Mr. Jared, Art Teacher Mrs. Najarian, and 5th Grade Teacher Mrs. Quire.

Los estudiantes de 5º y 6º grado de IBA disfrutaron de un día rico con un clima hermoso en Getty Villa en Pacific Palisades. El Museo Getty Villa alberga antigüedades griegas y romanas en una recreación de una casa de campo romana. Además de las antigüedades, hay muchas actividades de aprendizaje interactivas en el museo. FEMA National Emergency Test - Wednesday, October 4th at 11:20am:

Dear Ivy Bound Families,

There is a national emergency alert test TOMORROW, Wed. October 4th at 11:20am. Silenced cell phones, devices, TVs, etc. will make a loud noise at that time and it will be disruptive and perhaps scary for those anxious about emergencies. It would probably be a good idea to discuss this in advance with your children so they are prepared.

Please note that you can’t opt out of receiving this alert - every cell phone that is on, within a cell tower’s range, and using a participating wireless carrier is supposed to receive it.

The purpose of the test is to ensure that the systems continue to be an effective means of warning the public about emergencies, particularly those on the national level. Legislation passed in 2015 requires FEMA to test the Integrated Public Alert & Warning System (IPAWS) at least once every three years.

Ivy Bound's 7th grade class--led my Art teacher Mrs. Najarian & History teacher Mr. Teneriello, along with Mr. Jared--enjoyed a rich day of learning and great weather at the Getty Center. Much gratitude to the Getty for providing our school free admission and a free coach bus for this curricular trip combining art and history. (Our 5th & 6th grade classes are going to the Getty Villa in November).

The IBA Back to School Night 2023/2024 was a great success with a nice family turnout to hear about their child(ren)'s classes! Parents met our new teachers and were reacquainted with our veteran teachers.

This week kicked off our much anticipated Robotics class taught by Mr. Jared! Robotics class allows our students to learn STEM concepts in a hands-on environment. They learn how to program, design, and make their own robots, and allows the students to think out of the box in designing and making their robots!

Due to the impacts of Hilary on our families and employees, Ivy Bound Academy Sherman Oaks is making the difficult decision to close school on Monday, August 21st. Students and families -> please do not come to campus. School is expected to resume on Tuesday, August 22nd.

Ivy Bound Academy is excited to announce our Welcome! Tour and Informational Session for parents of new and prospective students. This event will be held on campus on March 6th at 4:00pm. Parents and students are both welcome to attend. We will cover the enrollment process, school culture, dress code, academics, and extracurricular activities, among other topics. Our informational session concludes with a school tour around our facilities. All on time applications must be received in our office by 3pm on Friday, January 28, 2023. This includes sibling applications, the sibling priority is only available if an on-time application is received in our office by the deadline date.

All applications received after 3pm on January 28, 2023 will be placed onto a secondary waiting list in the order they are received.
