So thankful to Moose Toys for sending us Magic Mixies Minis to share with our students!!! We had so many kids light up with excitement to receive FREE toys and blind bags at school, and know they were equally as excited to open their bags and find out which of the fun surprise toys they received! A special thank you ALSO to all of our parents who have created an account on our new website, friendsofrosewood.com. Your logins will ensure you all stay connected to our future news and updates, and that you remain opted in on our email list to learn of future events. We appreciate all our Rosewood Huskies and our amazing parents, and look forward to more fun surprises ahead for the new school year!

Welcome back to school, Rosewood families! We hope everyone enjoyed their summer time off and are proud to showcase that during the break, FoR was busy putting the finishing touches to the newly revamped, updated Staff and Teachers' Lounge at school -- providing much needed, comfier digs for our staff to relax while on campus and enjoy their lunch. Please see the before and after shots for how this space has come together. A huge thanks goes out to board member Kelly Galeas for leading the charge on these renovations -- she not only chose the new furniture with teacher input but often single-handedly assembled a lot of it too. We appreciate our parent helpers for making this space a reality for our school staff, and the reviews are in. The teachers absolutely LOVE this new retreat and appreciate that it comes with their own Keurig and updated appliances. It's back to school fun for all!!! Take a look at all these pictures from the first day of school!

So happy to see all our families who were able to drive out and join us for this fun event. It was a fun Friday for all!

Happy Easter! 🐰🐣On the last day of school before Spring Break, the younger grades (TK and Kindergarten) each experienced an exciting Easter Egg hunt in the garden. It was so nice to see how the school garden set the backdrop for some Easter fun! The next day, several school families came to the garden (in the rain!!) to aid in a garden clean-up work day helping to reduce weeds, plant natives and cover the newly planted natives bed with mulch. Browse these pics to see how quickly the garden was transformed and a huge thank you to those families who took some time over the weekend to give our Rosewood garden some needed TLC!

There's a class competition going on! Families who contribute any amount toward their School Support Fee will help their child's classroom be eligible to win an ice cream party at Rosewood! The first class to achieve 100% participation will also win a pizza party! Plus there are plenty of incentives from plush Huskies to branded Rosewood mugs and car magnets your kids can win by donating at the different suggested tiers -- we recommend $350 to fully cover an enriched education, but every dollar counts! Thanks to all the families who have helped us make an impact at school! So far, the donations we have received this school year have gone to support the re-hiring of our garden teacher, Ms. Maya, and a new 65" TV to augment learning in the music classroom. Let's keep the amazing momentum going and thank you to all families - including our recent graduates - who continue to support our amazing school!

The new school year is underway. What better way to end our back to school week than with a family gathering at the local park? Rosewood families can meet up at West Hollywood Park for a friendly get together and park play! Meet up with new and old friends, get to know other Rosewood families and simply unwind! The best part is with no school on Friday, this is the perfect opportunity to stay late and relax! The event runs from 4-7pm after school and includes a BYO (bring your own) picnic, but save room for our bake sale! All proceeds will go back to Rosewood!! We will also be doing a few prize drawings with a suggested donation of $10 so be sure to check out the official Friends of Rosewood table at the top of the playground so you don't miss out on any of the fun! We look forward to seeing many of our Rosewood families there. Park in the onsite parking lot and validate your parking ticket at the Aquatic and Recreation Center before you leave to receive 2 free hours of parking until 6PM.

05/23/2023

Calling all families! Do you know any local businesses that would be willing to donate a few items (discounts/certificates/merch) to our Spring Festival? Every year, the event has a small silent auction with fun, coveted in-school experiences donated by teachers such as "Teacher for a Day" or "Principal for a Day," and this year we are hoping to take the auction one step further by adding fun, themed baskets. We will have items from Disney, Aquarium of the Pacific, YADA and more! If you or anyone you know has access to fun items/experiences they can donate and that we can use to create a unique one-of-a-kind basket, please send us a DM or email [email protected]. We are looking for anything from sporting events, concerts, theme parks, and theatre productions to local tours, tastings, hotel stays, coveted artwork and the like, even items such as beauty items, lotions and makeup that can be packaged together. Whatever our families come up with will be greatly appreciated. Please contact us by this weekend (Saturday preferably) if you have a lead on such an item, and for our Tax ID number, as we would like to package all the auction items and promote to families next week in advance of the Festival date on June 2nd. Thanks again for all your help! For more info visit www.friendsofrosewood.com/springfestival

12/09/2022

Hi families! Thank you so much to those of you who have continually supported our school initiatives from yesterday's Husky Hangout in the park to the recent Step It Up campaign and so much more! We understand this time of year is truly busy and everyone reaching out means the world to us. Our 30-day fundraiser for the Rosewood Garden is now within its final week and SeedMoney, the nonprofit hosting our campaign, has just announced some new "carrots" to motivate us down the homestretch: 21 bonus grants to the 21 campaigns that raise the MOST during the final week. Right now, we have the opportunity to raise from $100 up to a bonus $500 just for bringing in extra funds during the last 5 days.

Whether you've already donated or have been considering it, we would greatly appreciate your support! Please visit our donation page here: https://donate.seedmoney.org/7894/rosewood-stem-magnet-learning-garden to contribute and a HUGE THANK YOU again to all those who have contributed thus far. Thanks to our supporters thus far, our garden is in a great position to receive an extra grant of $300 from SeedMoney and that would be ON TOP of any extra "Strong Finish" grants we receive in the next 5 days. Please help us achieve our goals. We have already surpassed our initial goal of reaching $1600 in donations but would love to aim for $2,000 to cover extra garden expenses and allot more class sessions for our garden teacher. As always, we appreciate all of you and all you do. Happy Holidays!!!
