How important are brakes? For those who laughed at Reggie’s air ducts on his Norton back in the day 😉😁😂

In contrast to Bautista, on some occasions Toprak Razgatlioglu has found himself approaching 200 °C, a value beyond which it is advisable to have the caliper overhauled to verify its full functionality. To solve the problem, an air duct was mounted on the Turkish rider’s bike, allowing the temperature to drop by 20-30 °C by directing airflow onto the disc and pad.

Aaaahh VIR 😁 After 2011 Reg began giving people rides on the back of their own bikes. I heard lots of interesting comments when he would return to the pits, passenger safely on the back. Things like "this thing has no brakes" were common 😆 But the best one was this one: I mean you put a 6'3" guy on the back of a Hyabusa and it is a bit of a challenge... So they come in after one lap and like "what's up?" The thing was all wobbly 🤭 out there which can be a little scary. Reg asked him to check the tire pressures. They were at 18 lbs. 🤦‍♀️🤣 📸

For this week's Wheelie Wednesday, we go back 20 years to Barber Motorsports Park and that weekend's AMA Superbike race two. It's Honda factory rider Miguel Duhamel taking the checkered flag on the rear wheel of his Honda CBR1000RR from AMA starter Bobby Lemming with fellow Honda rider Jake Zemke not far behind in second. It marked the second win of the season for Duhamel. (Henny Ray Abrams photo)
