What’s hotter than these temps? 🌡️ Wildwood fall athletics! Check out all the opportunities to support our Wolves this week!
It’s a beachside blowout! The boys varsity volleyball team finished their first day of competition this past weekend with a perfect 6-0 record! Led by longtime Wildwood Coaches Stu and Mark, the team showcased exceptional skill, teamwork, and experience as they defeated Campbell Hall and Crossroads in straight sets. Way to go, Wolves! 🏐 🐺
Swing big, and don’t let the fear of failure stop you from going after what you truly want. It’s a philosophy that has guided Cynthia Crum, director of the Costen-Rosenbaum College Counseling Center, throughout her 40-year career spanning on both coasts and sides of the college admissions desk. It’s also the advice she shares with Wildwood students as they delve into the college application process. As the 2024-2025 school year begins, we’re thrilled to have Cynthia join us at Wildwood.
Beyond her tenure in high school college counseling, Cynthia offers another invaluable resource to Wildwood students: her experience as a college admissions officer. Cynthia spent 13 years on the “other side of the desk,” working in college admissions at Washington University in St. Louis, her alma mater, where she earned a B.A. in English and Secondary Education.
“During that time, I really saw the world of college admissions evolve, and the forces that continue to shape it today,” Cynthia said.
Even for a seasoned pro, Wildwood holds surprises.
“What’s struck me so far about our kids is that they’re so interesting,” Cynthia says. “They’re intensely curious and have a quiet confidence that makes them stand out among their peers. I didn’t feel like I was talking with a high school senior when I interviewed—an impression that continues with each interaction.”
Outside of Wildwood, Cynthia can be found indulging in her love of history and art by exploring museums, “to the point that I burned my sons out,” she jokes, as well as practicing yoga, cooking, listening to “foodcasts”, and—it should come as not surprise—following her adventuresome spirit into LA’s thriving food scene.
Welcome, Cynthia!
As our kindergarten students acclimate to their new home in the world, leave it to our 5th grade students to lend a helping hand. That’s what community is all about! ❤️
The school year may have just started, but these seniors already have a leg up on the college application process thanks to this month’s Application Accelerator Week! Hosted by Wildwood’s Costen-Rosenbaum College Counseling Center, seniors met one-on-one with their college counselors to go over application lists, draft personal statements, fill out the Common App, and hear advice directly from Wildwood alumni and college reps! Thank you to Lehigh University (), the University of Iowa (), and the University of Wisconsin-Madison () for sharing your knowledge and guidance with our students!

From elementary to middle and upper, we’re having all the First Day feels! ❤️ Welcome back, Wildwood students! We’re so excited for all that’s to come this school year!
The journey begins! Our new kindergarten students (aka the Class of 2037) got their first taste of life as a Wildwood Wolf during Kindergarten Practice Day—a chance to make new friends, explore their classrooms with their parents, meet teachers, and prepare for an exciting year ahead!
The countdown is on! We can't wait to welcome all our Wolves back to campus this week. Let the '24-'25 school year begin - let's make it a great one!
We look forward to welcoming you to our community and getting to know you through the application process! The 2025-2026 application is now available! Visit www.wildwood.org/admission for more information.
Hard to believe that in just a matter of weeks, these 53 graduates will be headed to 37 different colleges and universities across the U.S. (and U.K). We can’t wait to see how their journey unfolds!
The elementary library is looking a bit different these days! Thanks to the generosity of the Wildwood families whose contributions made this special project a reality, construction and renovation of the elementary library is well underway! Coming this fall – new adaptable features and spaces intentionally designed enhance and encourage reading and literacy in our youngest learners, while also supporting our rigorous elementary reading program. Looking forward to sharing more as we make progress throughout the summer!
The creative juices are flowing at Wild Dayz Expert Edition Summer Camp, where these expert artists are learning about landscape artwork and techniques, using works by Georgia O’Keefe and Paul Klee for inspiration!
Today we celebrate Juneteenth with reflection, compassion, and action. Wishing everyone a meaningful and memorable Juneteenth!
Next stop, middle school! With the gift of song from families and kindergarten buddies, reflections from your teachers, and fond memories of your elementary days, this week’s Welcome to Middle School Ceremony was the perfect way to celebrate this amazing class! We can’t wait to see what you all accomplish in middle school and the years ahead!
5th grade wins, and the crowd goes WILD! Last week, Wildwood 5th graders and faculty/staff took part in one of our favorite end-of-year traditions—Fenway Park, a “baseball”-like game played with tennis rackets. What a great way to come together as a class and celebrate as you head off to middle school! Go Wolves!
What a wonderful evening at Multicultural Family Story Night! Wildwood families got cozy in the Commons to hear personal stories from members of the Wildwood community. Shares included a family’s passion for martial arts, examples of grandparent courage, highlights from an Indian adventure, reflections on military service, and finding community in rock climbing! Thank you to the Parent Multicultural Collaborative (PMC) for putting together such a fun event that celebrates the multiple ways we are all multicultural!
You can’t stop the beat! The 5th grade musical had us tapping our toes and on our feet! It’s been an exciting journey as students spent weeks working on songs, choreography, and character development. Bravo to the performers (and teachers Natalie and Seth) for such an amazing show!
It takes more than fast rowing to be champions of the 6th grade Cardboard Regatta. You need a winning formula! Constructing a seaworthy vessel requires students to put their math and physics skills in action. Scale, weight, and density all have to be considered. If their calculations are correct, they might just make it across the water and onto dry land! adventure
Once a Wolf, Always a Wolf! What a joy to welcome back the Classes of 2004 (our first graduating class), 2009, 2014, and 2019 for their alumni reunions! We’re so proud of all you’ve accomplished – you always have a home in the world at Wildwood!

How do you solve for higher degree polynomials and find the phantom graphs of polynomial functions? Through teamwork, of course! (though snacks certainly don’t hurt) Hang in there, Algebra 2 students!
“The course of true love never did run smooth,” but it sure is entertaining! Bravo to the cast and crew of our middle school’s production of William Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”. What a brilliant depiction of this classic work! Now playing at the middle and upper school theater!
Move over “May Gray” – these second graders are all about the light! After learning how light reflects and bounces, they used prisms to refract visible light and discussed how color and wavelength are related, before diving deeper into the Electromagnetic Spectrum. These scientists will ultimately use their knowledge to create solar cookers. We can’t wait to see the results!
Scenes from a stellar Senior Celebration Night, where the Class of 2024 proudly announced their college choices for next year and celebrated the many Wildwood milestones they’ve shared through the years. Congratulations to the Class of 2024!
Night at the Museum! To showcase their learning from a year in Humanities, 6th graders transformed their classrooms into an interactive museum, leading guests on a journey through history with artifacts and models from the Han Dynasty, the Aztec Empire, ancient Athens, and more!
Faculty and staff on both campuses were treated to an amazing lunch today in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week! Thank you to the wonderful Wildwood Parent Organization (WWPO) volunteers who made this all possible and for showering our faculty and staff with love and appreciation this week. Wildwood teachers and staff, you’re simply the best. ❤️
With Senior Exhibitions and graduation quickly approaching, the Class of 2024 capped off their Wildwood experience with a retreat to El Capitan Canyon for one last opportunity to bond as one (cue the tears 😭). Classes may have concluded, but the connections continue!
Why do Earth’s plates move? In earthquake-prone California, it’s a question with a real-world application for these 4th grade scientists! To investigate, students built water convection models, with each part representing a different aspect of Earth’s structure. Students then put their models to the test, as heat (mimicking the Earth’s core) created currents that caused the plates above to shift!
Smart, stylish, supportive, and sincere–meet elementary associate teacher Lyndon Wyse, today’s !
Lyndon has been a vibrant part of our Wildwood community since 2020. With a BS in Psychology from Texas A&M and extensive experience in coaching and teaching multiple grade levels across Los Angeles, Lyndon has found his “home” in working with our youngest learners.
Lyndon’s journey into education was driven by a desire to actively uplift and shape the next generation. “I’ve always wanted to encourage younger people,” Lyndon says, “and what better way to do that than teaching?”
Thanks Lyndon for the joy and dedication you bring to our elementary campus every day!
