The mission of the Collective is to support alumni of support through building leadership capacity, strengthening community, facilitating meaningful relationships, and planning city-wide programming that works to increase access to opportunities for our community. Despite the pandemic, we have successfully engaged hundreds of community members this year. For example, here is some of the incredible work the Collective-Memphis was able to accomplish this past year:
* Hosted a three part series on Re-imagining Education including virtual panels with students, parents, teachers, community leaders, and nonprofit leaders
* Initiated a weeklong iTeachiVote week to encourage community members to rock the vote during the 2020 election and planned virtual forums with local elected leaders
* Started a new monthly podcast show called The Teacher’s Edition to breakdown current K-12 education policy issues on a local, state, and federal level
* Engaged elementary school students and families in a Reading Across Memphis event
* Connected TFA alumni through a Drive-By Trick or Treat and virtual social happy hour
* Planned a 2021 Virtual Vision Party and professional development session for TFA alumino on building new year personal goals
