How the Milwaukee airport is poised to handle the RNC, and how it might pay off in the future 07/01/2024

How can MKE airport entice airlines to increase nonstop flights in and out of Milwaukee? By putting their best foot forward when welcoming visitors during the RNC!

The upcoming RNC allows Milwaukee to showcase its ability to host large conventions. If that leads to more large events in the future, it could pay off for the airport, possibly leading airlines to add more flights to Milwaukee.

How the Milwaukee airport is poised to handle the RNC, and how it might pay off in the future The airport has recently updated signage, placed new carpeting and plans to welcome a new food vendor ahead of the Republican National Convention.

The City of Milwaukee recognized the best in design through its 27th annual Mayor’s Design Awards. Mayor Cavalier Johnson led the ceremony honoring 20 projects throughout the city late last week. Congratulations to all those involved in these transformative endeavors!

The Gateway district is home to TWO of this year's recipients!

1) Who’s on Layton @ 512 W Layton Ave: Transformation of the vacant building (formerly Beer Belly's), adding a large four-season patio on the front façade, and landscape of the previously impervious site. Throughout the space, patrons can admire a collection of Wisconsin sport-inspired artworks by artist Jimmy Cha Cha.

2) Garden Block Revitalization Project @ 6th & Norwich: The multi-phase project included replanting the gardens, construction of a large gazebo, and the addition of multiple sculptures and artistic site features. The effort has led to increased activity at community events and a renewed interest in volunteer efforts to maintain the gardens. It has brought many neighbors together and serves as a source of great neighborhood pride. Milwaukee's Garden District
