Today is Giving Tuesday!
Voting is not just a civic duty but also the first step towards engaged citizenship, leading to increased involvement, action, and ultimately more justice. We invite you to designate your gifts toward supporting upcoming 2024 civic engagement efforts. Any gifts received during our Giving Tuesday Campaign (Tues, November 28th) will be matched up to $3,600 toward Get Out the Vote efforts with the Wisconsin Interfaith Voter Engagement Campaign (WIVEC) which could TRIPLE your donation!
As we strive towards repairing Milwaukee together, it is vital that we remain focused on promoting voting as an key component of positive change in our community.
Your contribution can make a real difference in empowering individuals and fostering a more just society for all through study, action and civic engagement. Thank you for considering joining us on this meaningful journey towards creating lasting impact in Milwaukee.

The MKE Jewish community answered the call for Mitzvot! Thx to Tikkun Ha-Ir of Milwaukee, Congregation , Shalom Milwaukee, Milwaukee Jewish Day School, and Askt Shul for their partnership in collecting teddy bears for a lead testing site. This is what community looks like!
The Anniversary Fundraiser was a successful event with about 125 attendees from all areas of the Milwaukee Jewish community and beyond. Tikkun Ha-Ir appreciates all your support in celebrating 20 years of Jewish social justice and social action here in Milwaukee. The future is bright when we all come together to bring about change.

"I am honored to receive an award that is named for Judy Baruch. Judy was the driving force behind many initiatives that continue to benefit those in need in our City. I aspire to have the community impact and build bridges in the way that Judy did throughout her career."

Veggie Chop Shop's last day was Tuesday, October 17th. We are so grateful for everyone who volunteered this season. We also appreciate All People's Church for generously sharing their space with us. The volunteer luncheon was a success and a great way to gather the community in gratitude.
Thx to Askt Shul for inviting THI to their afternoon of Chesed (kindness). It felt good to bring light to our community in times of darkness. A beautiful Jewish tradition.
The Judy Baruch Legacy award highlights Judy’s dedication to putting Jewish values into action as she did as the founding Executive Director of Tikkun Ha-Ir of Milwaukee from 2003-2016. By recognizing another Jewish leader or Jewish professional who is engaged in social justice and social action with the wider Milwaukee community from a distinctly Jewish perspective, Tikkun Ha-Ir seeks to honor Judy’s deep influence and living legacy in the Jewish community and beyond.
“I was surprised and extremely honored to hear about Tikkun Ha Ir's plan to create the Judy Baruch Legacy Award. My role in the creation of Tikkun Ha'Ir was to help bring together Milwaukee area Jews who wished to promote social Justice and equity. These people represent the full diversity of our synagogues as well as college students and people who cared about social change. The THI legacy really belongs to those who joined together to study Jewish text and apply what they learned to advancing social Justice. I am overwhelmed with gratitude for associating my name with that effort. Please accept my thanks for honoring me in such a meaningful way” - Judy Baruch
We are gleaning Honeycrisp apples and have an opportunity to make fresh apple cider.
We would need volunteers to help core the apples and churn them into cider.
Please respond in comments if you are interested and what day would work better for you!
Sunday: 3-5 PM
or
Tuesday 9-12 PM
If we get enough volunteers to help we will get the cider press in action!
In these times that are hard, we want to lift up those are keeping light alive.
Thank you so much to everyone who volunteered at one of our VEGGIE CHOP SHOP

Our hearts are heavy with the news out of Israel. May the memories of the victims be for a blessing, may their families find comfort, and may we see peaceful times again soon.
We are so happy to support the amazing work of Meta House, Inc. !
For THURSDAY of National Voter Education Week, THI joins with our many civic engagement partners to ask you to check what's on your ballot.
Understanding what’s on the ballot is a crucial step toward helping yourself and your community vote with confidence. It's easy to read up about the candidates running for state and local office in your community this fall, as well as possible state constitutional amendments, local referendums, and ballot initiatives that can impact your community directly.
And here’s the best part: It’s not a pop quiz! Whenever you have a spare few minutes, you can use https://myvote.wi.gov/en-us/Whats-On-My-Ballot. Please share this valuable information!
For WEDNESDAY of National Voter Education Week, we join with our many civic engagement partners, and ask that you make a plan to vote! It's never too early!
People are more likely to vote if they make a plan to do it 😉
Help voters in your community make a plan to vote today and make sure they’re ready for upcoming elections! By deciding just a few things in advance, voting can be made so much easier - Are you voting by mail? Early voting? Election Day voting?
If you’re voting in person, where’s your polling station? Do you have transportation to get there? Go to https://myvote.wi.gov/en-us/ for all voting information!
For TUESDAY of National Voter Education Week, THI joins with our many civic engagement partners, and ask that you if you're planning on voting absentee, please go to https://myvote.wi.gov/en-us/Vote-Absentee-By-Mail to order your ballot. It's never too early!
It's National Voter Education Week! THI along with our many voter engagement partners, is happy to share daily reminders! For MONDAY, please check your voter registration! It's just a click away at www.myvote.wi.gov.
THI did some pre Shabbat and pre Sukkot gleaning this morning. What a fabulous way to bring in the holiday. Thx so much to our volunteers! Shabbat Shalom and Chag Sameach!
Sukkot begins at sunset tonight! Tikkun Ha-Ir would like to wish everyone a joyful holiday!
Thx to so many in the THI community who donated books at our OUT and ABOUT event! They will be brought from Congregation Sinai to the food pantry very soon
