Sara’s yoga journey started over 10 years ago while looking to add movement to her life in a way that felt sustainable. After being called to a change, she left her job as a clinical dietitian in 2021 and traveled to Bali to complete her 200 hour yoga teacher training. Her favorite part about teaching yoga is its transformative power as well as holding space for all practitioners to feel safe, connect, and to grow. A fun fact about Sara is she spent the last 2.5 years traveling, living, and teaching abroad, backpacking to 5 continents in one year before living in the Bahamas and Tulum, Mexico with her dog. Now a resident of Minneapolis, she looks forward to being a part of The YogaFit community.

My name is Shauna, and I am so excited to begin my journey teaching at YogaFit! I’m born and raised in Minnesota, currently living in St. Louis Park with my 3 year old dog, Zola. Outside of barre, you’ll find me walking the chain of lakes with my pup, searching for the best cup of coffee, spending time with my friends and family, and playing golf!
What I love about teaching: I love creating barre workouts that balance both purpose and play! With a background in exercise physiology, my goal is to create mindful, targeted workouts, all while throwing in a bit of fun through music and moments for creativity along the way.
Fun fact: I’m known for making the best chocolate chip cookies 🍪(well - according to my loving family)!

My name is Ally and I am so excited to be joining the YogaFit community! I’ve been teaching fitness classes for over 6 years, but my yoga journey began over a decade ago when I began to integrate yoga into my life as a runner and swimmer. I consider myself a lifelong athlete and learner, and really enjoy blending the physical, mental and emotional benefits of mindful movement.
Favorite part about teaching: Empowering students to deepen their practice and work towards healthy and achievable goals.
Fun fact: I love learning new languages and am currently studying Dutch and Japanese!

I’m a Minnesota native currently living in the northeast Minneapolis neighborhood. My day job is in global supply chain, so teaching yoga is an exciting challenge! I love reading, trying new recipes, hiking, downhill skiing, listening to music, and chai tea lattes! I adopted two mischievous kittens 🐱 over the summer and my family has two dogs 🐶 who I adore. I consider myself a creative and adventurous person, so I am looking forward to bringing that into my practice at YogaFit!
My favorite part about teaching yoga is bringing a practice that has helped me grow and find peace in so many ways to others. I believe there is a type of yoga for everyone! ☮️
A fun fact about me is I love to use the Goodreads app and have read 21 books this year! My goal for 2024 is to read 30. 📚

Meet Barre instructor, Emma M! 👏🏻
Emma is one of the new Barre teachers who joined the YogaFit teaching team after completing our Barre training last September! Prior to teaching, she was one of our OG members in our Uptown studio!
Here’s more about Emma:
Outside of my finance job, I love traveling to the Gunflint Trail, exploring new wineries & breweries, and listening to true crime podcasts. But, mostly outside of YogaFit and work, you can find me spoiling my two rescue cats. 🐱🐱
My favorite part about teaching barre is fostering a space where exercise isn’t daunting, but accessible, enjoyable, and most importantly sustainable.
Fun fact: I’m a Canadian dual citizen 🇨🇦 and went to school in Toronto.

I grew up near Milwaukee, WI. I came to Minnesota for college and never left! When I am not at the YogaFit studios or working my day job in Human Resources, you can find me traveling, reading, and spending quality time with friends and family. I am happiest when I am moving my body, enjoying new experiences with my people, or drinking a good cup of coffee ☕️
My favorite part about teaching is fostering a supportive community that pushes everyone through challenging yet rewarding workouts. I also love that Barre allows for a blend of creativity and fitness, and I love seeing others fall in love with moving their bodies.
Fun Fact: My top spotify artist this year was Zach Bryan. He deserves the hype he gets.

- I’m currently pursuing graduate school to get a master’s in clinical mental health counseling. I have always had so much love for mind-body health and connecting with others. That is one of the reasons I was drawn to YogaFit where there is such a supportive and energetic community. I consider myself a creative person, whether that is through creative writing, cooking, or creating barre playlists!
Fav thing about teaching:
- My favorite thing about teaching barre is helping people stay healthy and pursue personal growth. Barre can be an inclusive way for people of all ages and abilities to improve their physical and mental health. Because the two are intertwined, I feel so grateful to see how upbeat and proud students are after class. That hour they take for themselves can change a person’s whole day.
Fun fact:
- Shark week is my favorite holiday. I celebrate accordingly by dressing up as different sharks, watching documentaries, and making ocean-themed snacks with friends.

While it is described as low-impact and accessible to any level of fitness, the small movements and pulsing that burns so good makes it a challenge for anyone. •What are you most excited to help trainees learn in Barre teacher training? I am excited to see the trainees build confidence and find their style of teaching!

Meet your Barre Teacher Training Lead, Anya! 👏🏻Anya started teaching for YogaFit back in 2020; she only taught 3 classes before studios had to close, but that didn't stop her from continuing in her teaching journey!
She helped teach virtual classes, and once studios were able to reopen, she jumped right back into the studio and even a few livestream classes!
She's helped coach the last few Barre teacher trainings, and is excited to step in as your lead! She comes with a great deal of knowledge as both a teacher and a teacher training lead, providing ample support to everyone on their teaching journey.

What do you love about teaching Barre?
What I love most about teaching barre is the people! If I’m having a tough day it completely turns around once I step into the studio and students start arriving. I also appreciate getting “the look,” that’s when I know that students are getting stronger!🤩
What are you most excited to help trainees learn in Barre teacher training?
Instructing barre is just as much about self confidence as it is technique and sequence. I’m hopeful that I will be able to empower barre teacher trainees to lean into their individual strengths and leave the training with increased confidence.

Marketer by Day, Barre-tender by night/morning. I'm always active, usually laughing and will impart the same in my classes. I'm a dog mom of 🐶🐶, newly married, proud St. Paul homeowner with a love of brussels sprouts, pull tabs, hiking, skittles, closing my apple watch rings, red lipstick and cold LaCroix.
What's a fun fact about yourself? I've been to 49 states and am itching to cross off Delaware (Dela-where?) as my 50th. My only dance move is the worm and I've done it in 25 countries and counting.
