In the early 1900s, an influx of immigrants changed the workforce forever. A large part of this new workforce was made up of hard-working Asian families from around the globe. Tensions began to flare, and in September of 1907, violent raids and riots took place, harming and displacing Asian American immigrants. Many then fled the area and sought new lives in different parts of the country. Today, let’s remember our history so that we can strive to ensure that such injustices never occur again.
