Community member and parent, Colleen Quin will be joining Neurelis for their webinar, “Carry On With Confidence.” The webinar will discuss seizure clusters, and how you can carry on with confidence after experiencing multiple seizures.

The American Epilepsy Society has developed a toolkit aimed at preventing epilepsy deaths.
Created by medical providers and people with epilepsy, the toolkit includes an assessment and action guide, information on how to have effective conversations about the risks of epilepsy deaths, and a patient handout that details how to decrease the risk of epilepsy death.

The book, titled, “I’m Sorry…. That’s Awesome!” recounts Tom’s time recovering from a life-threatening accident, and how the accident led to living with memory loss.

Rescue medications for epilepsy can stop a seizure crisis in its tracks.
We at the EFEPA advocate that everyone who has active seizures should have a seizure rescue medication readily available to provide a safety net for the possibility of prolonged seizures or seizure clusters. Talk with your epilepsy specialists on what seizure rescue medication is best for you!

Yesterday, our incredible Vice President of Programs & Advocacy, Rena Loughlin, celebrated her 5th year anniversary at the EFEPA!
Rena has dedicated her life to improving the lives of those living with epilepsy. She meets every challenge she faces with compassion, strength, and resilience.
Rena will be heading out on maternity leave from August 1st to November 1st. We at the EFEPA will miss her dearly!

Our talent show is one of our favorite nights of the week where campers get to show off their talents and have a blast while they do it. We can’t wait to see what this year’s talent show brings!
UCB Biosciences Inc. is conducting a phase 3 clinical trial called STARS to investigate a drug for prolonged seizures (seizures typically lasting more than 3 minutes).The study is looking for patients 12 and older who have focal or generalized epilepsy, or a combination of the two.
This study is to measure how well the body tolerates the investigational medication and whether it works in people who have prolonged seizures. It is required for the patient to have an active caregiver to be part of this study.

Join us for a morning of yoga in Northeast PA! The MPL Center will host a 1 hour session of yoga on Saturday, July 27, from 11:30am-12:30pm.
