Our June Owls Leaving the Nest feature is Leah Martino, ENG ‘20!
Graduating in 2020 as a civil engineering major, Leah Martino now works for the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as an Environmental Engineer in the water division, which sees to the management and implementation of both the Clean Water Act and Safe Drinking Water Act.
Working in water has always been a goal of Leah’s. Spending summers visiting Yellowstone and Grand Tetons, she had an appreciation for nature and the importance of clean and safe water.
As a student, Leah was an active participant in the College of Engineering community. She co-founded Temple’s Theta Tau Pi Epsilon chapter and served as president for a year, having the opportunity to lead her peers in the professional engineering fraternity. Leah also spent a summer working as an undergraduate researcher in the Contaminant Fate and Transport Lab.
She cites the people she met in the College of Engineering as the best part of her undergraduate journey.
We can’t wait to see Leah’s continued success as a College of Engineering alumna!
