Now that we are moving into colder temperatures we must truly consider our hair styling choices. Temperature can greatly effect the health of your hair and its ability to survive through the seasons.
Cold : The significant drop in humidity in the air during cold weather can leave your hair dry and damaged. The possibility of your hair becoming more snagged and tangled is high. Wind causes knots and tangles in loose hair. It can also cause your hair to become dry and brittle. Why is this so? Wind increases the rate of evaporation of moisture from your air. Cold weather can lead to hair loss. This is due to lack of hydration and humidity compared to what is obtainable during the warmer months of the year. Loss of hair during winter is pretty common among women.
As we know hydration is H2O and nothing more. Seal your hair with oil after you dampen it, just like your skin after a bath, and twist it closer to your body. Not adding hair or covering it for long periods of time is imperative to this process. When you are outdoors you should cover it but indoors, be free and be willing to add a mist of water every now and then, like a plant. I know we tend to switch to blow outs in the winter because they last longer then they do in warmer weather, but as you can see how counterproductive that is for the health of the hair.
If you are looking for and oil the you can use on your hair skin and nails that is extremely effective, I highly recommend Olivette. You can learn more and purchase by clicking the link in our bio above
