We capped off the spring semester with most of our students at our wrap-up session. We were honored to have Krail Brooks as our special guest, whose late husband, Steve Brooks, served 39 years as executive director. Students voiced their appreciation for the Cultures and Communities seminar, with many envisioning Philadelphia as their future home, finding the city more familiar and approachable.
Last week, students visited the headquarters of the 6th and 9th Police Districts. This provided them with invaluable opportunity to gain insight into police operations and to explore the dynamic and evolving relationships between law enforcement and the diverse communities of Philadelphia. Thank you Officers Ian Nance, Ray Heim, and Inspector Jarreau Thomas for the in-depth tour.
Last week at TPC, students participated in mock interviews, gaining real-world and professional experience in the interviewing process. The interviews were led by Will Clements, Chief of Staff of Athena Global Advisors; Patrick McNeil, Soar Director of the Homeless Advocacy Project; Susan Butterweck, Director of Human Resources at The Arden Group; Stephanie Freedman, Director of Organizational Development at Moving Traditions; and TPC Alumni Connor Robertson FA’20, Consultant at EY, along with John Haynes, FA’76.
