Our Story

The GLBT Center is one of four campus community centers (along with the Women’s Center, Multicultural Student Affairs, and the African American Cultural Center) housed under the Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity (OIED).

Since 2008, the GLBT Center serves students of all sexual orientations, gender identities and gender expressions, including gay, le***an, bisexual, pansexual, asexual, q***r, transgender, genderq***r, gender fluid, gender non-conforming, non-binary, agender, intersex and questioning students and their allies.

Our vision is of a campus where students, staff, faculty, and alumni feel a shared responsibility to increase their individual understanding of and comfort with diversity, to enhance their ability to connect with members of their own communities, to build coalitions across identity groups, and to work collaboratively in order to raise awareness, promote respect, and create a culture where they can advocate for equity, inclusion and social justice on behalf of themselves and others.
