We are pleased to announce that we have offered Lola Wolf of West Seattle, the position of Organist at St. Stephen's, and she has accepted. She will begin her position on January 4th at the first choir rehearsal of the year. It has been exciting to spend time with Lola and Marshell Lombard, our new Director of Music, over the past week, and get to know her.

Lola Wolf began her studies at St. Benedict's Monastery in St. Joseph, Minnesota with the Benedictine sisters. She made her debut as guest soloist with the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra under the baton of Leonard Slatkin. After completing a graduate degree at the University of Iowa with Delbert Disselhorst, she moved to the Seattle area where she continues to teach in a private studio. She has performed in the United States, Europe and Japan.

Lola has supplied at both St. John the Evangelist in West Seattle, and St. Thomas in Medina.

Before moving to Seattle, she had positions in Minneapolis, Iowa City, Portland and Albuquerque.

Lola holds a BA in piano performance and organ performance from St. Benedict's College in St. Joseph, MN, and an MFA in organ performance and pedagogy from the University of Iowa.

Her local performances have included concerts with the Tudor Choir, directed by Doug Fullington and the Byrd Ensemble directed by Markdavin Obenza.

Drawn to mysticism, Ms. Wolf has performed Olivier Messiaen's “Les Corps Glorieux” and “Messe de la Pentecôte” with choreography by Jules Mueller. Introducing children to the genius of Bach remains her passion.

Upon accepting this position, Lola remarks, "I look forward to creating music that embraces and encourages our lives."

Dr. Robertson remarks, "If someone could make a washing machine sound like a fine organ, Lola could play it."

Come meet Lola in worship on January 7th at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Seattle at 10:00 A.M. You don't want to miss her first Sunday!

Cloud 9 Academy - Seattle Cloud 9 Academy’s approach to experiential learning integrates the arts with wonder, love and play.

Meet our Head of School, Lisa Skylynd. Lisa is an 18 year veteran of another very successful school she helped to start and grow, in a neighborhood very near Laurelhurst. This school has grown from 1 classroom to 5 buildings of children. She holds a list of credentials too lengthy to list and is so much about young children that she plans to be in the classroom, this fall. We are so happy to have a person of her background and can't wait for you to meet her on May 21st as she will be introduced to the community at 10:00 A.M. with a reception following.

Welcome to the new Cloud 9 Academy at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. We are an early learning center for young children with the most highly qualified faculty and staff and the best opportunities for young children. We are trained in and will be using Reggio and Montessori. We hope your 2 5-5 year olds will be joining us when we open this fall. We are enrolling, now.
