Hello EEU Families,
The children have been very excited to be here at school while snow is falling from the sky. We wanted to make sure you have our Snow and Inclement Weather Policy in the event that more snow heads our way.

EEU follows Seattle School District on school closures due to weather.

1) If Seattle School District is open and on time; but using emergency bus routes then EEU is open for Kindergarten and Full Day Preschool with No door-to-door bus service. Early Support (Infant Toddler Program) Toddler Time is open.

Note: If your child rides the school bus, the district sends out alternate locations for pick-up and drop-off for the emergency snow bus routes.

2) If Seattle School District is open & operating on a delayed schedule (i.e., buses operating two (2) hours late, on emergency bus routes, with NO door-to-door service) then EEU follows a delayed school schedule for the Kindergarten and Full Day Preschool with No door-to-door bus service. Early Support (Infant Toddler Program) Toddler Time will be open depending on the duration of the late start. Families will be contacted.

3) If Seattle School District is closed: ALL EEU CLASSES ARE CLOSED.

Hello EEU Families -- There has been an update to our school calendar this year.

Please note that on Thursday, February 2 we will be open for all programs. And our last day of school will be Friday, June 23.

If you think you qualify for ECEAP (Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program), which is Washington State’s pre-kindergarten program that supports children and families who are furthest from opportunity, contact our admissions coordinator Carolyn Cottam at [email protected]!

2. Live within Seattle city limits
3. Families must be within the state median income

The past year has been incredibly challenging for our community.

Inclusive education thrives on connection and relationships, which have fundamentally changed during the pandemic. Ongoing remote and hybrid learning have significantly impacted how children with disabilities are able to receive critical education and support.

But, through it all, our EEU school staff have done what they do best - 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲, 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗯𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗷𝗼𝘆. Our teachers and staff have found new ways to build strong communities, even when they weren’t together in person.

Over the past year, EEU school staff have gone above and beyond by doing what they do best — innovating, breaking down barriers and bringing joy. Amongst all of the uncertainty and isolation, our teachers and staff have found new ways to create a strong community, even when we have not been able to be together in person.
