We provide an authentic Montessori program in a loving environment, with ready outdoor access; allowing children to discover and grow their passions and strengths, coming into their full potential.
Writing all the things.
Got a new movement toy and so far it has been both bigger than I expected, and a huge success. The oldest child basically spent most of the day with it, hoping that next week everyone is able to take a turn.
Come and see what makes us special!
Veranda Montessori will be holding an open house on Saturday February 10th 11 AM.
Como and see what Montessori education in a small home like setting can look like.
Can you turn the snake gold?
There's something about these cylinders that never gets old. Love introducing logical games to the older children with them.
Leveling up their sewing by making a bag. This child even made the strap!
Stacking, as one does. But also precision, fine motor control, impulse control (because this child use to always try to knock any sort of tower over a few months ago), and concentration.
Phonogram practice, because ever if you can read it, it takes a bit of practice to figure out how to spell it.
Cool winter trees craft was a success. They all enjoyed it, no fingers were poked with the pins. Lots of creativity and fine motor control.
Concentration. The face of the child who is determine to master all the cubes.
Learning to blow bubbles - not as easy as it seems when you're a small human.
When you enter the land of digraphs, one alphabet box is simply not enough!
Much as I try to plant subtle suggestions for more creative extensions, there's just something about that marble.
It's a classic for a reason!
Maps!
Love coming back from a long weekend to a mostly normalized classroom with lots of spontaneous activity and big projects.
Because let me just say that the return veterans day long weekend was NOT like this.
Coloring salt is back on the shelf and the result is looking particularly pretty this year.
Thankful for our amazing families, who share their traditions with us.
you're the best ❤️
When you're trying to level up and go straight to building in the box after building by layers on the lid.
Yet another language post. We appear to having something of a language explosion all over the classroom and I love it.
To make it even more delightful, this child is not afraid of a challenge or to push themselves. After choosing to have me scribe and write over my highlighter, they then decided that no, they were also going to independently write it too. Which led to a 10 minute trying to figure out how to connect cursive letters when the first one does not end at the bottom.
Child #2 (out of frame) watching close by is very ready for their own lesson on this, just needs a little practice on some of the base skills, but they're certainly interested. And child #3, whose toe peeks out of the top, was there listening in with great attention for most of the actual lesson (got bored at the handwriting part).
The mighty toucan flying towards the letter 't'.
This child has been joining everyone else's language lessons for a while. But only recently (within the last week) has she been joining in on the answers. Hence, her first sandpaper letter lesson.
They don't call it the absorbent mind for nothing - she already could identify with confidence the associated phone he's for three of them!
Veranda Montessori is proud to be an American Montessori Society Verified School. This designation shows our deep committment to authentic Montessori education and upholding the five core components of Montessori.

That moment when writing comes together ❤️
After lots of phonological awareness, lots of letter introductions, and it all ties in.
Mat by missymontessori (can't tag).
These are not the materials I ordered 🤔🤣
Map craze!
Love it when a child gets one idea and then they all think it's the coolest thing ever and want to do it too.
Let's see what triangles can do!
