Tourism is crucial to the future of St. Louis — the arts lead the way with new RACSTL initiative - St. Louis Business Journal Public funding for the arts plays a crucial role in supporting tourism. Every quarter, RACSTL receives four-fifteenths of the Hotel/Motel Room Tax revenue earned in St. Louis City and St. Louis County.
12 films and filmmakers honored at St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase Sixty-four films were screened at the festival, mostly shorts. These were deemed the best in 12 categories.
Not only were we able to hand out 11 awards during the Closing Night Party of St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase but we were honored with a Proclamation from the Mayor's office declaring July 28, 2024 as ST. LOUIS FILMMAKERS SHOWCASE DAY! Thanks to Mayor Tishaura O. Jones for supporting local filmmakers and the next generation of talent with the Mayor's Award For Best Student Film to Ava Farrar.
